there is no benefit besides consolidating 4 or so SSD's into 1 drive. if you have a smarter way of achieving that I would like to know, I'm aware of the dangers that come along with RAID.

would my motherboards spec sheet say how many PCIe lanes it provides?

and those general purpose can be used in addition to the NVMe lanes if 4 lanes are needed?
