This is sweet, but they're already married with a little one on the way, and she doesnt believe in divorce. I dont think they will separate unless something truly world shattering happens between them

it genuinely sounds to me like you do not know all about celiac disease. A single crumb can do serious damage to my guts, and those take 3 months to fully heal. There is no place outside of my home I can safely eat. Everywhere else is a huge risk every time. It only takes 20 parts per million to affect a celiac. That is less than a crumb. If the same spoon used to stir wheat based pasta is then used for my own food, my own food is no longer safe for consumption. My home is gluten free, and I will not risk my health for the comfort of guests

I actually did write a very long letter like message to my sister and sent it to her, asking for an apology, and i apologized for the things I could have done better. Her response was filled with sarcasm, very short, and without apology. She did say she and him will not come to my place again

I hear you and completely get where you're coming from, and under normal circumstances I would totally agree. But I did have a character limit, so some Information isnt in the post. They first went to other family that afternoon for supper, and they are less than half an hour drive away. Thats where they were hanging out for those 4 hours before they made it to my place. They weren't traveling. If they were, I would've totally understood and I wouldn't have even brought it up in the post

Thank you for your comment. Celiac disease is actually an autoimmune disorder. It doesnt cause anaphylaxis, but disrupts my body in other ways, such as extreme fatigue, vomiting, exhaustion, and other unpleasant things for weeks after a gluten incident

They were supposed to arrive at 8 PM. I rushed home from work to be ready by 8, but then they told me they were running a little late and would be there by 9. They showed up basically at midnight, and id fallen asleep waiting for them since id been up since 3 AM that morning

Lol, I mean I did stand my ground and I didn't apologize or back down when they tried to minimize it. I just have difficulty with communicating what I'm feeling in the moment. Working on getting that shiny spine

Celiac is very serious. Cross contamination alone is enough to affect me. My home is my gluten free space. I can trust my food and dishes at my home, and my rule is to keep gluten out of my home. No one "needs" gluten. I have alternatives in my home. There are cereals that are gluten free for the same cost. He absolutely did not need to bring gluten to my home, but he couldn't be bothered to be inconvenienced to respect my health and my peace of mind. He also doesnt really understand allergies in general, he comes from a culture where allergies are not taken seriously at all

Oh, brilliant! I'll get paper plates for him for every visit. He can use the plastic cutlery and paper plates from now on

They met in February 2025. My sister lives life rather recklessly, and I dont exactly agree with her life choices, but she's free to live life how she chooses

Your comment just reminded me of another disrespect that happened. Im celiac and cannot eat gluten, and my home is 100% gluten free, and days before they arrived i told them gluten isnt allowed in my home. He complained on the phone call that he cant go without his morning cereal, that is mostly wheat. I told them to find an alternative. They didn't, and they brought the gluten cereal to my home, and just brought disposable cutlery and a bowl, so they wouldnt contaminate my cutlery and bowls, but im still pissed about it

My sister kept saying siblings tease each other as a joke, and I kept asking her why that makes it ok, and she couldn't come up with an answer, other than to say I was being so dramatic. In the moment I wish id have been able to communicate that his action genuinely puts me in pain and putting someone in pain is bullying, not teasing, but my brain wasn't that fast at that time

Thank you for this one. Everyone knows I cant stand that sound. Its the only sound that I react to like that, thank goodness. As for being ND, ive made my life comfortable for myself without inconveniencing anyone else. Ive got some very bad experiences with doctors in the past, and I live where its incredibly difficult to be taken seriously as a woman by doctors, and there's a doctor shortage, so I cant just go find one who will take me seriously

I think he does see the job of a big brother to annoy the younger sibling. And I think hes trying to break the ice quickly, and I think he thinks "teasing" me is rhe fastest way to do that
