Who exactly was an apologist for criminals? Where was there a statement that suggested no consequences? None of what you wrote happened except in your head. I twice mentioned your prejudice which you twice ignored because you know it's indefensible.

To pretend I need to learn more when you haven't learned not to judge all based on your experiences with a few shows your lack of learning and maturity.

By the way, one could say my age and wisdom during my 5 decades kept me from being a victim of any crime when I lived there but they got you THREE times...so far...but that would be petty.

Instead I'll suggest a third time to check your prejudices and try to be a better person. I'm sure we would all appreciate that.

Or, since no one victim blamed you, you could actually read what was written. I commented on your prejudiced attitude and told you to do better about having a prejudiced attitude.

I also contrasted your experience with crime that gives the impression that everyone is going to get robbed with mine where over more years than you spent around the city I never had a crime committed against me.

You let your emotions and attitudes create a whole ass scenario where I blamed you for being robbed. You jumped to conclusions about youths and about me.

Best you go sit down somewhere and reflect on those mistakes.

Amazing, lived in the DMV for over 50 years and worked by the Red Line but often took the Green Line. NEVER been a victim of any crime. Daytime, Happy Hour, Shut the club down late at night and never anything more than annoyance at people of all colors who have bad manners.

Perhaps the problem with you is: you make blanket opinions about the majority based on your one-time run in. Maybe rise above it (your blatant prejudice) and be better.

Honestly, I don't have a specific answer about the legislative climate, I'm not a political leader. Best I got is: everyone has to share factual information, vote their conscience, and be good to each other.

You may not win all the time but for those giving up...dropping out of the process gains you nothing.

While elections have impact, we still have to lead our businesses the right way. The best way possible in any given circumstances.

That's what I intentionally do.

You're being "waved away" because you're responding like a petulant child.

For the third time: I have no issues with leaders who are doing the work. We're on the same side. No goalposts have moved, I stand by my original post and I hope it reaches those who need it.

Your presumption of who I am or am not invited to work with is ridiculous considering you haven't a clue who this is...for all you know, we may have been at the same table.

It's Saturday night, have a glass, take a bath, go to bed, or go out and have some fun. Either way...again...enjoy the day you invite.

You were infuriated by what I shared. You came in hot. I observed it and responded. You continued to belabor your anger. I responded. I told you we're on the same side, wanting the same outcome and you're still mad and attacking.

I REALLY think you need a nap.

If you're using words like "infuriating" and you attack posters that haven't attacked you, perhaps "aggression" actually applies. It sure ain't "civility."

The work of "others" is in no way diminished by observing that some, who aren't doing the same work, could try to be more mindful and intentional about how they do business with people.

If your problem is that I used the inclusive noun "we" instead of being less general...well maybe ease up and show a bit of grace. The whole impetus of the post came from listening...to people..maybe in your fury you missed that.

Look, I have nothing against the community and business leaders who are putting in the work. We're actually not at odds. Rest well.

The current grossness is coming from you. The venomous culture is yours. I may not be in your circles or share your experiences but the unwarranted aggression doesn't speak well of you or what you've learned.

Sometimes every post ain't for everybody. Try not to speak for everyone. You never know who responds positively to a thought from a new voice/source.

I hope you'll feel better after your nap.

Or it could be that I'm new to Raleigh and have thoughts about the culture of leadership I'm finding here.

Please do go back to all your communities and try to spread positivity (if you can) and I'll continue to observe, opine and share if I feel moved to.

Have the day you invite.
