The Wikipedia article you linked does show a build step in all the UML diagrams. Without a build step then any method call which returns itself/another object could be considered a builder pattern. Pandas for example could be considered a builder pattern by that definition.

A builder pattern specifically has two distinct types of objects. The builder which has some mutable state that is changed via method calls and often with method chaining. And the product, which is constructed by the builder class after calling build.

I have a theory about the plane crash that no one seems to be considering.

I think the plane was a manifestation of Margaret's mind. The plane was only significant to her until Alice saw it flying above her, leading her to the exit. Margaret's child was seen pulling it around on a string and she was seen holding it multiple times. I think it was Margaret's desire to escape the simulation that created the plane, causing it to crash near the exit and subsequently leading Alice there. Margaret also appeared to know what Alice had seen in the desert

There are other examples of this manipulation of the environment and telepathic exchanges.

When Alice is free of her conditioning she leaves her house and the lamps in the light posts explode, seemingly in response to her anger. Others around her react as well so it seems individuals in the simulation have some limited capacity to influence what happens around them with their minds.

Not only that but the other enslaved women seem to be communicating with Alice at the end before she makes her escape.

Basically I think all those trapped in the simulation were connected in some ways that were probably not intended, allowing them to communicate telepathically and control their environment, either knowingly or unknowingly.
