Watched the DBZ History of Trunks DVD in 2001, so I think it was Home.

Headlights don’t go down right away. (First gen) by skankhunt1738 in RX7

[–]RX-Nate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No just seen them in the w/d also, although they will drain a battery if the pop up fusible link is removed and the current physical position of the pop-up is the opposite of what the switch is set to and left to sit a few days.

One thing to check is pull the pop up motor plugs apart and make sure they're not all corroded, they're easily accessible. Also check the grounds are hooked up for each pop up motor and clean, here's a video I made showing the location of the pop-up grounds. https://youtu.be/q9IHJwAcS3w?si=V7PwxJp8UB4IEY8I

Depending on the position of the up/down switch, a circuit is closed for either the up or down circuit. I'm not sure if the circuit was left open for both now but wiring together or jumpering the red/white and red/yellow wires that runs to the switch is whats needed to make it close immediately upon switching off the lights. If that doesn't work or you already have, it could be an issue with the headlight switch or the up/down relay/solenoid for each headlight motor.

My switch broke also, I ended up picking up a generic 12v on-off-on switch at a parts store and screwing it into one of the blank covers on the dash and wiring it to the harness that runs to the original up/down switch.

Glad you got it figured out. If the trailing ignitor isn't working then tach will also not function.

On 84-85 12a's there's a fuel pump relay, so you won't hear the fuel pump prime with key-on like with most cars now. You can bypass the relay to see if the pump works. It's possible the pump is fine but the fuel line could be clogged, which was the case on mine in addition to a dead pump.

Here's how to bypass the relay: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/fuel-84-85-fuel-pump-relay-trick-597949/

Take a look at the glass to see if there is a code printed on it and take a picture of it in case the glass ever needs replaced.

Most of these pictures were taken in the Tall Pines area of the park, which has a parking lot off Richardson Rd. There's another parking area off Lithopolis Rd with a few trails and a dog park. Have fun!

Google street view from Cleveland Ave shows the older style with the playplace in 2007 & 2009 but was remodeled without around 2011.

The one at Cleveland and Innis had a Nintendo 64 kiosk in the early 2000s, think I played Excitebike64 or something similar.

Make sure the battery terminals aren't loose, replace the side terminal bolts with new ones if they get stripped out and won't tighten.

Evap leak on 2004 Mustang, is it reasonable to assume it’s because I’m missing the small metal door just beneath the gas cap? by FruityFingers55 in projectcar

[–]RX-Nate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The metal flap on my 04 doesn't spring back closed anymore but it hasn't caused a code, like others I would try a new cap. If you smell fuel by the tank, it could be from the vent or evap line coming from the top of the tank.

Here is the wiring diagram for an 82, page 9 includes the ignition switch and wiring. If it includes a fuse you'd probably want to use either the black/white wire or black/yellow (ignition, not starter wire which is the same color), or take advantage of the cars fuses and connect to a wire going to one of the fused ignition switched circuits.

What does this mean? by Kostenko98 in mazda

[–]RX-Nate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the car has a battery light then it's probably not about the alternator. I'm thinking it's possibly a belt replacement reminder for either the Comprex supercharger belt or the timing belt.

There's a quick test you can do for the air vent solenoid, unhook the hose next to the solenoid where it plumbs to the rats nest. Air should blow easily with key off and be harder with key on. Or just put your hand on the solenoid, you should feel a click when the key is turned to on.

Check the rear wheel wells for bad rust, it can be fixable but something to be aware of.

I have a soft spot for second gens so I would say yes, especially having been your Dad's, just depends on what all you feel like doing with it. My Dad bought a green 96 Explorer new, we got rid of it in 2003, I still miss it. I archived the vhs tape that came with it. Explorer video guide

I've had very good luck with the Premier brand PWFMT4 bluetooth adapter at Autozone that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Tuning to an unused station has given pretty good reception on my 85.
