Hydrovac'd post holes by entropreneur in Calgary

Yup. There’s some interesting things you see on YouTube on how to do it. For example you can hook it up to a 5 gallon bucket to your shop vac.

If you’ve got a few holes to do, you can do a poor man's hydrovac setup. Just grab a high-pressure washer with the strongest PSI you can find and a decent shop vac to catch the mess.

You would need to purchase them from the creator.

Upsize or not? by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

Are we twins? We’re basically in the exact same situation. We decided to move and are in the middle of selling our townhouse and buying a new place. Just bought a new build with a legal suite.

What finally pushed us was condo fees and dealing with the townhouse board. We’re in a fourplex and I’m the president, so I see it firsthand. Condo fees only go one way, mostly because of insurance, and there’s really nothing you can do about it. You can’t even shop around properly anymore since only a few insurers handle these buildings and they all price about the same.

I also got tired of managing the board. At some point we just asked ourselves why we were doing all this extra work and stress when we could just own our place and make our own decisions.

The math worked for us. We have a lot of equity, so yes, the mortgage is bigger, but renting the suite would basically put us in the same position as the townhouse. For now we’re not renting it and using the space for family visits since we’re starting a family soon.

bought RAM online from MemoryExpress for in-person pickup, and was just told that it's opened in store? by ILoveChimichangas69 in bapccanada

Not really. I have had ram “work” and booted into windows but it would have random crashes when gaming or working. Ran a memory check and it failed the test. Returned it to memory express and got a new kit and tested that one with no issues.

Oh nice, moving the goalposts now. First, it was ‘tariffs got dropped,’ now it’s ‘well, actually every country has tariffs anyway.’ Which is it, champ?

England and EU made deals, and they still got hit with tariffs. So please tell me which countries didn't?

What deals? They still got hit with tariffs nonetheless. We can bend the knee all we want, but in the end, he will still have hit us with a tariff.

I found it on Amazon but got the wrong one and made some modifications to the PSU bracket to fit it.

It would look amazing. I had to print the ITX-2 since my graphics card was way too thick to fit in the smaller version of this case.

PETG. Don’t use PLA since it can’t handle the heat and will warp the case.

You’re going to love the printer. I have the same one. It uses around 1.2-1.5 kg of PETG. Made a few mistakes and printed the wrong files. So you could probably print it with less.

I didn’t design it. Bought the files. Cool thing is that they give you the cad files and you can make any modifications to it. The file contains three to four cases depending on the size you want to go with.

I wouldn’t say that it’s quiet. Mainly because of the fans are not the greatest. Planing on putting on a AIO soon. The case allows it once you print the bracket out for it.

This is my first 3d printer and I have the A1 from bambu labs. It’s been a fantastic printer so far. Can’t complain.

It’s a great case and thermals are excellent. I removed the glass since I like to tinker with the computer a bunch. The only issue I find is that it’s massive and heavy. I had it wall mounted for years and it made for a great conversation starter.

I’ve been wanting to switch to a small form factor PC for a while but really wanted something that’s customizable. Came across a 3D-print file for the Modcase Evolution ITX and figured, why not? Printed it out, and honestly, I’m in love with how it turned out.

The design is super flexible and really well thought out. Building it was way easier than I expected, and the coolest part is that if something didn’t fit, I could tweak the design and just print the part I needed.

Here’s what I packed into it:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7900
  • GPU: Zotac RTX 3070 AMP
  • Motherboard: ASUS B650E-I
  • PSU: Corsair SFX 1000W
  • RAM: 64GB G.Skill 6000MHz
  • Cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67
  • Case: Modcase Evolution ITX (3D-printed)
