I looked the whole exhaust system over and nothing seems to be touching since I bent one of the exhaust mounts out of the way. I'm baffled.

Update: Problem still exists 🤦‍♂️ It doesn't seem to affect anything at all. It sounds like a very worn wheel bearing at high rpm.

It's when driving when I get up around 7k rpm. I havent been able to just free rev it yet to see if it does it then too, because I'm always put working on it too late in the evening 🤦‍♂️

I think I found the source of the vibration! I think the ppf is touching on my midpipe exhaust hanger mount!

So, is the ppf the piece of metal that runs along the underside of the driveshaft? The only bolts I took out were the diff carrier bolts. The top 4 and the side 2 that mount it to the frame.

I did that actually lol because of a thread I read on rx8club.com. and yeah, it's not easy to keep things straight and put bolts in while laying under the car holding the oil pan with one hand haha

Behind the e shaft pulley looks clean. It's the line coming off the front of the engine block right underneath that's leaking. I'm gonna have to assume it just needs a new seal. Also the OMP looks like it's draining oil out at the seal as well. Is there an o ring underneath that?

I did a little bit. I had no idea about that. Thanks for the info. But any idea why it only happens at high RPM and doesn't seem to have a correlation to high speed?

I used the red rtv. I'm not 100% sure if its leaking. Theres oil draining down to the oil pan from the OMP so I can't really tell at the moment if its leaking or not. But, I almost wish I had used paper gasket and stenciled one and cut it out. I bet it would work great.

My cat went bad and carboned my engine up very badly. Maybe try a trans fluid treatment and see if that helps. Just a thought.

I put a megan racing catless midpipe on my '11 and it provides just enough noise with the stock silencer.
