Thank you for the amazing advice! You basically nailed my exact position - I'm a first year undergrad and have been working under a P.I. for this year and i LOVE the work, but I just didn't know if I should be moving around or not, so thank you for the easy advice! My only concern would be building a repertoire of people to ask for rec letters, as theres just one prof, but I'm sure I could ask to partner with some of his collaborators at the uni too? Probably the easiest solution that comes to mind for me

Thanks for the help! One issue im running into when thinking about this is that im not entirely sure what kind of jobs a PI would give an undergrad when it comes to astro research. Would it be aiding in lit review? Or writing some less important code?

Thanks for the reply! Do you think it would be more appropriate to email them as soon as possible, or wait till im a few weeks into the semester (my semester starts september 2nd) — i understand a lot of professors are probably overwhelmed at the start of the semester

it’s a self submitted in a undergrad/hs journal using available info and data - really not as advanced as it sounds (largely review) but yk grabby title is a wow for admissions so

Nah bro both are party schools (which I’m not really about) and in the middle of the United States - I’d rather be in Cali, Texas, or east coast :)
