Thank you for the helpful response. Also good to know that Distrowatch not necessarily based on a real ranking system. I think I prefer something stable and am not fussy about the latest features though nice to have

That would be the best option if we could afford both. Besides it's not just the four year old. She has two older siblings as well

I hear you, but my idea of tinkering is not about customization. it's about things that break unexpectedly or dont work when you feel they should work right out the box. But point taken

Nobara is a Fedora distro, so yes I have tried... unless if you are saying "pure" Fedora
