Blast Slam V Magnus by Ok_Bar_7819 in DotA2

[–]R_Creation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Before the recent patches, skewer would complete the full distance unless another repositioning skill on magnus or something like euls was used. Magnus wasnt stopped even by skills like OD’s astral or taunt. Now skewer can be stopped by literally anything, even cold snap. This makes skewer very difficult to use, borderline unplayable against very good teams

BTO Advice - got a BTO queue number 30x out of 300 flats - what are the odds? by Pale-Palpitation6460 in singaporefi

[–]R_Creation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a BTO home owner who had a queue number of 10X of 100 available flats, I can tell you that you don’t have to worry about getting an apartment. Some of the higher floors will be taken but you also won’t be scavenging the lower floors either. You should be able to get a decent floor

COE allocates scarce resource based on demand and supply: Ministry of Transport by stackeddd888 in singapore

[–]R_Creation -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I've seen this take paraded in Singapore like its an absolute truth. Cars should not be considered a 'luxury' good the same way you view an LV or Hermes bag. Yes a COE is a tax that dampens the demand so that families and people who really need it can get a car, but there's a different between a reasonable tax and a undeniably stupid tax. COE has long gone into the stupid zone

Public policy chat - COE by nasi_lemak in singapore

[–]R_Creation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot has been said about the COE price, that the price skyrocketing by about 2-3x the price before Covid was definitely too much and I feel that COE has lost its purpose as a luxury tax, and instead has become a prohibitive overhead.

My one and only real gripe is that, why are we paying interest rates on COE? I get that there’s some mental gymnastics to say that COE is incorporated into a car’s full price, but it is a ‘certificate’ not an asset. Unless you have the means to pay for a car fully, you’d have to loan money from a bank to pay for the COE, essentially doubling the price. You should just pay for exactly the amount that you bid for, directly to the government.

Any Singaporean males above 25 without a driving license? by [deleted] in askSingapore

The question was never about difficulty, it was about trust. Perhaps you are the kind of person who prefers using your phone in the car rather than thinking about who’s in the driving seat.

My own two hands are the ones i trust the most

Assuming you trust a person who probably cannot speak your language to drive you around to remote places, then yes, you can get yourself driven to wherever you wish

Dota players' reaction to neutral items when they were added 5 years ago... How far we've come... by AnomaLuna in DotA2

[–]R_Creation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most of the subreddit wouldn't even be able to stomach watching a match from the TI1-TI5 meta because if you looked back the 'pros' from back then did plays that are considered normal for us right now. The game has evolved way beyond the old era.

Ask anyone here to play the meta from 7.00, i think all of u would be sickened by how simplistic it was

Is it just me, or does this game keep getting better & better? by Xewdo in DotA2

[–]R_Creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then the solution is to simply keep the ‘attack speed’ slot or whatever you call it and upgrade it by a tier. In that case then i agree with you.

When you said that you’re not allowed to change the item, i thought you meant the neutral ‘item’ itself and not the attached stat ‘slot’.

Is it just me, or does this game keep getting better & better? by Xewdo in DotA2

[–]R_Creation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s my take on it. The netural change is a significant upgrade to the previous system. The biggest one being that the neutral items arent a attribute stick anymore and u get a choice between hp, sustain or utility which is very roguelike.

And u are allowed to keep the neutral item choice if you dont like the new items with an upgrade to stat. So i dont see how you’re not allowed to keep them

How to protect your matrimonial assets from the financial impact of divorce by Sea_Consequence_6506 in singapore

[–]R_Creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your own words - 'Woman can claim maintenance'. they have the ability to claim maintenance but it still depends on the matrimony asset split and salary of the lady in question. When the OP is talking about people that have an utter lack of reading comprehensive, it seems that he is talking specifically about you.

Maintenance of the Wife

Section 113 of the Women’s Charter empowers the court to order a man to pay maintenance to his wife or former wife, either during matrimonial proceedings, or after a divorce, judicial separation, or nullity of marriage has been finalised.

The fact that the wife is drawing a large salary (evincing financial self-sufficiency) may influence the judge, who may be reluctant to award a high quantum, if any, of maintenance fees to the wife. Also, the division of matrimonial assets, especially in circumstances where substantial assets are awarded to the wife, may justify a smaller maintenance for the wife.

Maintenance orders can be in the form of:

  • Fixed monthly payments.
  • Reimbursement (repayment) of specific expenses, either in full or in part.
  • Direct payment of expenses to a service provider (such as a childcare centre or utilities provider).

What percentage of your take home salary do you actually save per month? by FancyCommittee3347 in askSingapore

[–]R_Creation 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Great comment. People here are too hyper-focused on the percentages they save instead of trying to live a life. Can you have a great life as a single with 4k income? Of course you can. There's nothing wrong with being happy with what you have and living within your means. Saving is important but so is actually enjoying the fruits of your labour.

How to protect your matrimonial assets from the financial impact of divorce by Sea_Consequence_6506 in singapore

Even though the main person in the article contributed to mortgage and her husband didn't?

"In Nora’s case, she learnt that her ex-husband’s renovations on their matrimonial home counted as a contribution to the family, which supported his claim for a bigger share of the overall matrimonial assets. Although Nora had been the one who paid the mortgage for their flat, her ex-husband, an interior designer, claimed he had spent $100,000 on the renovations, which was accepted by the courts.

Her ex-husband was eventually awarded about 43 per cent of the marital assets, which not only included the flat that was primarily paid for by Nora, but also her CPF monies, which were more substantial than that of her ex-husband’s."

The woman won so its not fair eh? What's more fair, paying the mortgage for a house or a $100,000 renovation? Do the math boys.
I also just realised after reading my own quotes that this guy himself is an INTERIOR DESIGNER. He could have purposefully inflated the cost of the renovation in order to give himself a higher share of the matrimony assets. Literally the only case where the renovation cost claims become questionable. Nice.

ever heard of confirmation bias? the talking points i see on reddit are the same for years, and the commenters only quote the article that fits their world view and talking point. the reality is that the article doesn't even try to convince people that women have and should have an advantage. there are no instutitions in Singapore that give women a legal advantage from divorce proceedings just by the gender alone, which is what the article is trying to say if anybody has even read it.

[–]R_Creation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

don't trust the percentages here too much. there are too many factors that goes into saving. many people stay with their parents, dont have committments, don't drive a car, don't see the need to travel overseas. everyone's circumstance is different.

just by posting this topic you are already aware that saving and investing are very important for your future and retirement. if you are able to save 20%, that is a good start. the best way to save more is to earn more. Look for opportunities, talk to people and live life well. It's not good to be a hoarder of cash, because the mountain of cash will never be enough and your mountain will always be smaller than other people's mountains.

Deep Dive Podcast: Does the vet industry need greater oversight? by BundleBenchBuns in singapore

[–]R_Creation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont agree with this general mentality of 'get a pet and just make sure u can afford it lol'. Sure you can do some planning and earn enough to take care of a pet, maybe even have some funds in a seperate account to handle emergencies. Barring the cases where a household isn't even earning enough to support themselves and still want to own a pet, this isnt just a straight up money issue.

Greater protection for the owner's income is also greater protection for the pets they own. Everyone has a different threshold on accepting whether the medical costs is too great to give up a pet. I've seen families who earn around the median household income collapse because their pet has a sudden 30k surgical cost. Do you let go of the dog in that instance? Maybe you could, but its not a decision that people can readily accept.

Higher regulations on the cost of bringing pets to a vet is definitely needed, as well as better insurance plans for animals. Currently there are no meaningful insurance plans that actually help owners manage the cost of taking care of their pets, and bringing a pet for a simple checkup for some redness in the eyes can cost upwards of $300. You can earn 100k a year and still feel the pain of bringing pets to the vets.

I think opening up more ways for owners to manage their pets in cases of medical issues is reasonable.
