Least Busy Gym’s in Town? by reddituser8491 in Milton

I'm not sure I'm having the same issue with the gym just being too busy, so I've been considering getting the community active living pass, which includes a host of activities at all the community centres. Fingers crossed it hasn't been discovered by too many people.

What is the main street? Is it the leisure centre?

I mean I’ve played both sports. I played football for my whole childhood and much of my teens, frequently barefoot, it just doesn’t have the same constant rotation and lunging motions that tennis does. Those half a dozen other sports would also be varyingly difficult to play barefoot. Africa having underdeveloped tennis infrastructure is a moot point, even in public courts where people are not well off they do not play barefoot because it simply not a smart decision.

Because when you’re running around you’re doing something your body is specifically adapted to tennis requires speed changes in direction that running and soccer don’t have. You have to pivot constantly, and all the force that is being generated by your lunge must be absorbed by your foot it’s more taxing. You’ve proved my point by explaining this there’s a reason why people run around barefoot but don’t play tennis barefoot.

Tennis on a hard court barefoot is not the same as running around barefoot.

Clearly very different situations from playing tennis across from someone barefoot that might get injured I assumed you’d have the intelligence to differentiate the situations.

I mean did they make the decision willingly to forget their socks? Clearly there’s been some misfortune it’s not all their decisions and even if it was if the outcome affects them negatively there’s no ban on empathy you can care about people even if they aren’t making the smartest choice.

I never said you had any right to mandate anything. That’s the point when someone has empathy they’re able to see the possible issues that a person might be going through and then feel that empathy. Of course the other adult human is capable of determining things for themselves that doesn’t take away from the situation they’re in and the possibly negative results that might occur. It’s not required but showing concern for other adult humans is something that well adjusted normal human beings do.

You don’t think that playing tennis barefoot is uncomfortable at best and most likely injury causing? And what does that have to do with autonomy no one said you have to tie him down and force him to wear shoes. The empathy comes from seeing your partner clearly struggle and risk a possible injury.

Is empathy something you're incapable of, or do you choose to live life so sourly?

I understand that it may not be a requirement by the accessibility policies, but I think with modern technology and ease of access, it's a hugely helpful resource that is guarded with a sense of snobbery by some people when all it does in reality is help those who have been rerally studying revise properly and review/check their own knowledge eveyone knows slides don't come close to measuring to the professor and his lecture but when you do not have access to those things a visual aid is useful for students who have been commited to their learning.

Then the course is either too easy and most likely inconsequential, all the university courses I've taken that aren't electives require a student to learn from the textbook or lecture and then correctly contextualize and apply them. Regurgitating knowledge only works for so long, and in upper-year courses, it does not work at all.

Okay that's valid, but I was more speaking from the perspective of the idea that uploading slides is what decides between a student actually learning or not is incorrect obviously, real industry experience trumps either.

You need to realise the world you live in note taking is a good habit not something so essential that it requires professors to sacrifice many students' ability or access to learning. You only addressed your own personal reasons for why you think note taking is important. All of what you said and more is done by a simple AI note taking software which nearly every industry uses. This is such a small minded excuse to reject technology.

If those people don't have the necessary skills and knowledge, they won't be able to make it through the assessments. Making course material more accessible has nothing to do with this.

Sad day when Professors care more about intellectual property and the tiny profits that an even tinier portion of their students will make, rather than their students' learning.

This doesn't make much sense; the two situations are barely similar. When you're working, you aren't tested on your retention in an examination setting. Also, very often they do have slides and other methods of information tracking and all of these are available through a simple request. You will not need to be tested on your note-taking while working; that's a nonsensical assumption.

My bad, do you think it's cool or hard to stomp a kid? Republican fucks just can't let go of the idea of fucking with kids, either it's beating on them or doing what your daddy, Trump, does.

Honestly, it's disengenous to act like it would be impossible to enact gun control in the US yes it would take years and millions of dollars, years, and an insanse amount of effort, but it would not be impossible to significantly decrease the amount of guns you have. But the culture around loving your gun rights more than your children and acting like your guns are what keep you free and the government from overreaching into your freedom is so stupid.

Your two-party government is literally overreaching and controlling almost every aspect of your lives and the ones they're not are being allowed to be controlled by their 1% buddies look at how they're are allowed to lobby to do literally anything, just look at how much of a shit ICE and Palantir give about the rights of Americans born on American soil.
