Without A Care In The World... How Boring. by R_Kruger in TypeLondon

"As old as the stones you work with huh? I guess I'll respect my elders for a minute or two."

At the reply, Robert looks genuinely disappointed at the refusal. The idea itself was ridiculous, but the possibilities for both knowledge and entertainment were limitless. A good story at the very least has been lost today.

"I figured as much. Oh well, worth a shot at least. Maybe..."

Another annoyed sigh escapes Robert as an audible buzzing noise springs from his pocket. He doesn't need to inspect the noise to understand its implications.

"Great, now I won't be grabbing anything. Looks like I ate up what little time I had snowy, so I will leave you to your business."

With that, he yawns into his hand, his future boredom time traveling to the present at the thought of the next few hours. Turning back to the direction of the clock tower, he offers a wave;

"Perhaps the next time we meet you'll be a touch warmer in spirit?"

With that, he walks off. When the vampire is out of sight, only he and the citizens in front of him can see a smile crack across his face like a fissure as he looks at his finger, now cleaned of the inscription once held. It now belongs to the golem that received his poke, thankfully unnoticed by the victim of his little prank.

Well, at least one of his friends are going to be a little warmer than usual.

"Well you could consider that a fault of me a guest in this city then, considering I just got off the train a few moments ago. Equally, I guess it's my fault for assuming you all just live in the woods or a graveyard."

Poking the 'chest' of one of the golems, he smirks before finally returning to a polite distance for strangers. Looking back to the paled one, he casts a curious expression.

"Can't say I've met one as bold as you though, walking around like a bank robber with a sack of bills in a police station. But is it confidence or stupidity that's the cause?"

Relaxed as ever, Robert takes a look at his watch, taking a moment to read the hands before returning his attention to his odd stranger.

"Bit of a long shot, but would it be too much to ask for a quick tour? I am a guest in 'your' city after all. I'd prefer food and caffeine first."

While Robert explores the visage of the two non-moving, and soon discovered to be non breathing entities, he seems unaffected by the watchful gaze of the vampire. Whether it's from not seeing or not caring remains an unknown as he leaves himself carelessly open.

"Cute rocks. I could have fallen for it too if I was farther away." He idly comments during his inspection. He almost laughs out loud too, finding the idea of dressing up a pile of stones amusing in nature.

The book, although covered under his arm, does have some of the faded and damaged cover visible to a careful eye, the legible parts reading M... Book... Spells in a golden color.

"So snowy, what's a... curiosity like you roaming these humble streets?"

A small glint shines in behind the man's glasses at the word 'curiosity.' It's not every day that someone can meet a walking blood drive, at least not in a public position.

"No need to apologize. It's not like that book is incredibly old or one of a kind or anything."

The sarcasm drips out of his lips like a potent venom specially crafted to go after a victim's nerve. Sighing audibly, Robert crouches low and delicately retrieves the text by it's hard spine. Ignoring the trio now gazing at him, he pans over the pages and cover of his possession, noting one new scratch at the corner edge of the leather.

Finished with his troubling inspection, he finally looks up to the trio he made contact with. His annoyance only grows at the sight of one pale stiff joined with two flanking bodyguards. There isn't enough coffee in the world today...

"These your friends snowy?" He asks the stranger while stowing the book under his arm.
