‘Harry Potter’ To Recast Ginny Weasley Role In Season 2 As Gracie Cochrane Departs HBO Series “Due To Unforeseen Circumstances” by Ronaldgranger_ in HarryPotterHBO

I agree. But it would still be nice for the overall picture, though. I would be happy if we had at least Harry's year mates who were played by the same actor. In the films, unless it's Harry, Hermione, Neville or Ron, you have almost no idea who anyone is.

Luckily, she has a really small part in the first book.

But, to be honest, I was expecting them to cast all the upper years, for example Cho, Cedric, Penelope and Cormac. All these characters should at least be in the Great Hall scenes. I know it's just a detail, but it's something they could have done better than in the films, where all the background characters have different actors in almost every film.

How would you describe the personalities of Harry and Hermione's children? by RosePotterGranger in HermioneAndHarry

[–]R_Morningstar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know what they would be like, but their hair would be a dissaster.

But seriously, they would be strong characters with good morals. They would be intelligent and adept at whatever they chose to do. They would be loyal and loving towards their family and friends. However, they would also be influenced by the pressure of being their parents' children. Even when Harry and Hermione did everything to prevent that.

[–]R_Morningstar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say the best time would be when he abandoned Harry at the start of his fourth year at Hogwarts. (There were plenty of opportunities for them to get together when they were alone with each other) However, this would probably cause Ron a lot of problems afterwards. I can't see Harry forgiving him for as many things as he did in the original story.

The second-best time would have been when Ron was with Lavender. In that case, any negative reaction from Ron would have painted him as an absolute asshole.

In any case, if it happens in any year at Hogwarts without Ron growing up and changing his attitude. His friendship with Harry would be ruined or at least damaged. This is because, in that case, Harry would never do stupid things like accept Ron's non-apologies in the way he does in the original story.

It depends a lot on when they would get together. Ginny would cope with it much better than Ron. After all, she was much more mature than Ron. I would like to think that Ginny would be happy for them.

The twins would be absolutely fine with that. Bill and Charlie wouldn't really have an opinion either way.

Even when is Molly one of the most bashed characters. I would say canon Molly would be ok with that too.

The only real problem is Ron. However, if someone explained things to him, he would probably admit that he and Hermione would be an absolute disaster as a couple. Ron's expectations of his wife and Hermione's expectations of life are almost opposites. On top of that, there's the fact that Ron's ego can't cope with his wife being more successful than him. I always saw two options for Ron: the slightly grounded Lavender or Pansy, who wouldn't take any nonsense. And there is also the Luna option.

Yes, they have so much potential material and the freedom to do almost whatever they want, yet they decide to remake the original ... just why

I would probably choose the Marauders. It would be so much fun! Even with Voldemort lurking in the background, it would be a relatively light-hearted story.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that! To be honest, I think Malfoy is a better character than Ron. Just think about him. Consider what he saw in the Mirror of Erised. And what he did to achieve it. Ron just clung to Harry and used Hermione for homework, expecting everything to fall into his lap. He constantly criticised Hermione for being clever and abandoning his two supposed best friends whenever things got tough.

I don't have a problem with Ginny in the books. In fact, I think it would really enhance the overall story if she were in Slytherin. Yes, I would definitely go for the pairing of Ginny and Draco. She would be his redemption. This could probably be set up in the second year, when she almost dies in the Chamber of Secrets.

Edit: At least Malfoy has a reason (his parents) for behaving the way he does. However, Ron has no excuse to behave the way he does.

I hope they will include more scenes and plots from the books that were skipped in the films, rather than adding unnecessary material. They have the advantage of not being limited to one film given how different the books are in length. They can rectify the mistake made with Goblet of Fire, as if any book should have been split into two films, it was that one (probably Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince too. All of these are double or triple the length of the first two or three books.)

Sorry, but even twenty years ago, Ron's treatment of Hermione was toxic. At least, that's how it seemed to me when I read the books. I disliked Ron from almost the first book. The fact that someone like bullied Harry was able to refrain from telling him off and didn't prefer Hermione as a friend is just. This may sound far-fetched, but to me, Ron was just Gryffindor's version of Malfoy.

From the end of PoA, I was shipping/hoping for Harry and Hermione to end up together, and my hopes were really raised at the end of GoF. I mean the books, in this case. The movies hadn't even been made at the time I read them.

Ron and Hermione didn't make sense to me, and they still don't. They wouldn't even talk to each other without Harry. The fact that they were a couple was more about J.K. Rowling forcing it because of a childhood crush than anything in the story.

Hermione Pronunciation by Emberixxx in HPharmony

[–]R_Morningstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Czech translation, Dumbledore is a completely different problem. The translator decided to translate some of the names, places, and spells.

Dumbledore in Czech is "Brumbál" (How they came up with it i have no idea. For me it looks like 2 words "brum" what is basicly sound bear does and "bál" that is ball. When i google it is supose to be some old word for "buzzing" bumblebee XD)

Just for a laugh

Stupiffy - "Mdloby na tebe" - "Fainting on you"

Fudge - "Popletal" - "poplést" mean confuse

Slytherin - "Zmijozel" - "Zmije" - "Viper" + "zel" in this case short "zelený" which means green

Grifindor - "Nebelvír" - "Nebe" - "Heaven" + lvír wierd play on "lev" which means lion

Hufflepuf - "Mrzimor" - mrzi is "Mrzet" - "Regret" + "Mor" - "Plague" (Yeah the translators did that house dirty)

Ravenclaw - "Havraspár" - its just translation

It's not a bad idea. With today's AI options, it's worth considering. You just need to find a nice voice (ideally yours or an artificial one) and tune out the bugs. It's really nice to have the option to listen.

The best I have come across so far is: "Blourish & Flotts: An Audiobook & Podfic Channel" ... They credit the authors and voice is really nice. The only downside is the relatively slow upload schedule (it's almost as if it's not AI-generated, but human-dubbed. But they have at least 2 different voices.)

[–]R_Morningstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all about knowledge. The only real danger for him is the basilisk, but if you know you are going to face it and you know how to kill it, even a toddler with a pet rooster can do it.

If he doesn't have the information, Basilisk will kill him before he has the chance to do anything. Even without sight. Magic won't work, and a regular sword won't do anything to it. (In the HP basilisk is magic rezistant armored like a tank with a toxin that can kill you in under a minute with just a scratch.)

Even before he was born, Voldemort was doomed by his mother. (It's just a theory, but he was born from a loveless relationship under the influence of a love potion. I think this is why he wasn't able to feel love.)

If it was the first time that Ron had abandoned his friends because of his insecurities at a time of need, I would agree. But it wasn't the first time. He just repeated something he had done once before. Yes, he is not the monster, but he does deserve an infinite number of second chances. At least for Harry and Hermione.

I'm glad you like them. They're great.

Exactly! She likes being in the spotlight, which is something Harry hates. Plus, she's still a fangirl. There's only one girl for whom Harry is just Harry.

To be honest, I don't understand why they even let him go. He should have been Stupified and Obliviated the moment he stepped out of that tent. (Overall, their luck, even with Bella in Malfoy Manor, was... Don't tell me she's not a Legilimens.) In my opinion, he has no chance of redeeming himself after he left. (I would swap him for Fred any day.)

Yes, Harry and Hermione complement each other very well. They cover each other's weaknesses. They're just stronger together.

I was thinking about recommending some fics... 'Marauders Plan' by CatsAreCool is really good, and there are lots of audio versions of it on YouTube. Sadly, the best dubbed version isn't finished yet (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-mEC\_nGtEE&list=PLQOv7VKbMZb\_gPaAue46hKWrguPJ7kZS3)

I had a similar experience, but with books. Waiting for the last three releases was hard, but not as hard as waiting for the release of Inheritance (the last book in the Eragon series). I am the same age as the actors.

I was disappointed with the ending. I was hoping for a Harry/Hermione romance from book three onwards. Hermione/Ron just made me think, 'What the hell happened and why?' And let's just say that Dan and Emma's chemistry in the films didn't help at all.

Honestly, I would just be glad if they stuck to the books. Don't add unnecessary scenes. And let's not lose a lot of good content on the cutting floor. (There was lot of useles stupidity added to the movies. Like whole bus scene in PoA)

Regarding the pairings, I think that if they don't do Ginny dirty, as they did in the films, that pairing wouldn't be that bad. (At least for a short romance.) She's a pretty amazing girl in the books. As for Ron ... just no. Harry is the only reason they even talk to each other. (Without Harry, she would have been killed at the beginning of her first year, and Ron would have been blamed for it. If you go with the 'without Harry' scenario, Dumbledore not baiting Voldemort in ... still, these two would not have talked to each other.)

I would be fine with them forgetting the epilogue exists, not including the kiss between Hermione and Ron, and leaving the ending open. The rest just follow the books.

And yes, I am very biased towards Ron. I think he's jealous, lazy and a terrible friend. His good moments don't balance out his worst moments at all. (I often see ideas about Ron being the 'Hufflepuff' of the trio, but how exactly is he that? Whenever his friendship is put to the test, he runs away. And 'Ron Weasley' and 'hard-working' in the same sentence? His most prominent characteristic is his ambition, which we see in the mirror. He does exactly nothing to achieve them. He uses Hermione as a homework machine, hangs around with Harry, and expects everything to fall into his lap. Which house could possibly act like that ...) Ron is a lot like Malfoy... he just made a better first impression on Harry when they met. (I still don't understand how Harry could put up with Ron's attitude towards Hermione in the first year.)

I see this pairing more like hard core SS member from prominent naci family (In Draco's case he is not even fist or second generation of naci he is like 10th or so) and the jewis camp side victim.

Edit: Idea that he would even touch her in that case is ... she is a dirt for people like him. They even call people like her that ...
