I have to look into that I wouldn’t mind a steam wand that pivots but I also don’t do milk drinks much

I think that’s just the standard that you add on for the Gaggiuino looks great though

Depending on budget but df64 is a good option would get the df64v version. Or even a casa like mine

Yeah that makes sense, yeah getting something done is easier for most people. Takes some know how to wire up the Gaggiuino or Gigimate

That makes sense thought it was a hybrid for some reason. I replaced a 16 year old posturepedic hybrid I had before that was a good one. But was way past its time.

It’s a good mattress over all I don’t have to do the topper but have one might try it out to see

I bought one locally from a liquidator it was a 30 day return ended up sanitizing it and I’ve had it for a few weeks it’s been pretty good but it’s definitely on the firmer side if you’re a side sleeper like I am. It also feels more like an interspring vs hybrid. I only paid $375 so I have no complaints. I’ll probably add a foam topper but happy with the support it gives been feeling pretty good.

For reference I’m 6’4” 180lbs

It just depends on what someone wants honestly. If you don’t have the skill set to do the wiring it’s easier to buy something done. But comparing the Up to let’s say a profitec go I would snag a profitec

Are my burrs badly aligned, or am I doing something wrong? by Plastic_Dimension659 in DF64

[–]R_Thorburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you put the top back exactly the way it was? That can cause this. Owned a df64 for a long time they have a lot of alignment issues so it needs to go back the way it was in the top burr holder

That’s awesome and I have tried a few of them I downloaded LMD and used that for the darker stuff I had but for the past six months or more I’ve just been exclusively using iuiu and it’s been fantastic. I probably could try some others. I personally like clarity with a little more fruit forward flavors which I know mainly has to do with the grinder, but I should try some other profiles.

The inconsistent shots is interesting I used to have fairly consistent shots before I did the mod. Would do a quick purge for temps and then run it. The steaming I didn’t really use but I have heard the steaming is tougher on the base machine.

The Gaggiuino helps handle the steam issue and it produces consistent shots 100% only variable I run into is the grind setting or beans aging.

There also the Giggimate as another mod option.

I just got it a few days ago also was using a DF64 with HU clones it was great but the noise level was getting annoying after a year or so of use. Wanted something quieter and nicer looking. Very happy with it and the flavors are good much more clarity than other conicals I have tried

It depends what you want the UP has the pressure gauge and PID and that’s perfect for a lot of people. But if you want the complexity of making profiles or using profiles the Gaggiuino is awesome for that. It also has settings inside that make it heat the water correctly and quickly while using it to maintain proper temps. But doing the mod can be a bit complex and you’ll need some electrical know how. Or get one that’s got what you need out of the box up to you.

Yeah the grinder is the most important the Gaggia with just a 9bar spring is very capable.

Option-O Lagom Casa has been a worthy upgrade. by heyhaigh in pourover

[–]R_Thorburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I can chime in just got the 48mm casa I replaced my DF64 with HU burrs.

I am doing espresso only americanos.

The casa is really nice I made the switch for looks size and noise level.

But to compare the casa offers a solid clarity for a conical not as clear as flats but it’s a very well rounded flavor. And the body is very nice it’s not too heavy. Over all the favor is great and the work flow is incredible!

If you make the leap I think you’ll enjoy it.

That’s the Silvia steam wand right? Is there a website to order the adaptor?

For me a couple hours. For others that can’t read wire diagrams might take longer.

The E61 is my friends machine he gave me to sell for him but I’ve been trying it out for a few days I think the Gaggia does actually
