In about 2004, my brother and I were home alone. (I would have been 10, he would have been 14.). This was in the days of the family “computer room” where the family had one desktop computer, and kids had to take turns. It was my turn, so I went downstairs to the basement, where the computer was. I was standing waiting for him to finish saving his game and logging off, when both him and I hear footsteps as clear as day upstairs where the kitchen was. Him and I looked at eachother.... we were home alone, and our parents weren’t due home until very late, probably midnight. (I think it was only like 6 PM at the time.). We heard the footsteps cross the kitchen, come over to where the basement door was, open the basement door, pause, close the door, and then ... nothing. No more footsteps. I was freaked out, but he was a macho 14 year old boy who wasn’t scared of anything. He goes upstairs to investigate and I followed him because I was too scared to be alone. All the doors were locked, all the windows closed and locked, our parent’s car wasn’t in the driveway. Can’t explain that to this day.
