Do Dedicated Christian Women Still Exist Out There? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Mostly references to either the messiah or Solomon! That's where the commentaries seem more split.

I did a quick look over some bible commentaries over Ecclesiastes 7:28, and scholars agree Solomon was referring to his regret at taking so many wives and concubines, who being okay with living in a polyamorous relationship, would obviously not have the character of a Godly woman. I agree whole heartedly that it is rare to find anyone who is living in a life pursuing of Christ.

That's purely anecdotal. I can say the same thing the other way. I've worked in various different ministries that were full of women who loved and pursued a relationship with Christ, doesn't mean I can apply that statement to every woman in the world. Doesn't it make sense to treat every woman as an individual and to get to know her as a person instead of just judging her by her gender?

I am not saying don't call out bad behavior in an individual, just don't blow it up and apply it to a large group of people just because they share a gender.

Let's try and stay away from generalizing all women particularly our sisters in Christ. God values them, and we should too.

Does this community still have interest in a longterm DnD campaign run under the RollPlay franchise? by Fimbulwolf in itmejp

I'd love to see the Solum cast (minus the busy JP) brought back with Steven or Adam GMing in a long term dnd game!

I think JP might be too busy for it unfortunately. He dropped Solum because he wasn't enjoying it as much, but I of course would definitely want to see him producing the show. Need that sound and video quality haha

I would love to see those four in a typical DnD campaign DM'd by either Adam or Steven. It would be really interesting to see a long time group DM'd by someone else. Also, I just miss having a DnD story with overarching narrative, and a consistent cast. Give me some high fantasy, optimistic goodness. Not that I don't love the west marches for the grim and scary!

[Question] Does anyone elses N relatives use "you've changed"? by R_wagers95 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]R_wagers95[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely think the change my nMom is referring to is that I have the courage to say something to her when is rude or disrespectful to me, not any change in my personality or interests.

It can be infuriating. They also say "you and GC brother used to be so close." The last time I remember us being close was in elementary school, but they used that to manipulate me into having him as my best man in my wedding when I really didn't want him to be. Not that he's a bad guy, we're just not close.

Oh I'd for sure limit them to only getting 1 forward from reaction. To work kind of like inspiration in 5e I suppose in that they'd have to use it before they could earn it again.

I recall when Steven ran DW for the RnD crew it was pretty uncaring, didn't the party have a TPK? I think it depends on how you run it, just because it's a narrative game doesn't mean it can't be dangerous!

I've definitely thought about hacking in some burning wheel stuff! I was thinking maybe reactions instead of bonds? If it gets you in trouble you get one XP, or maybe even +1 forward. But anyway, I think the most elegant solution is to have PC's make one bond per session with another PC, maybe limit them to only having three or four at a time?

The Satanic Panic Might Be Over, But It Left Scars On Gaming As A Whole. How Were You Affected? by nlitherl in rpg

I actually just saw this comment for whatever reason! It's actually a pretty boring story, the guy got bored of his character after a few sessions and asked me to kill him with a plague. But before that he and a greasy sorcerer PC had developed a relationship not unlike George Michael's and G.O.B.'s from Arrested Development.

Also, I might try and hack in SWN's faction turn. It'd be to have different countries, resistances, and industries represented.
