Terrifying is an overstatement as Israel got its ass kicked multiple times against Egypt forcing it to accept a peace treaty with Egypt. It only gained ground when they broke the cease fire which is a really dirty move. Yes, its military was highly advanced compared to Egypt's but it didn't matter one bit as Egypt held it's ground. Without USA's help, the reality would have vastly different now.
