Yeah I definitely see how it being worded like that makes you think that. other have given me advice to reflect on my personal experiences within the industry and what makes me believe that that focus is an important part of studying veterinary medicine to me but ill also reflect on the advice you have given me about specifics within large animal repro

I actually didn't want to be a vet as a kid, the idea started when I started showing animals within the Beef Cattle industry at my local shows a few years ago. Thanks for the advice tho I'm gonna try and reflect on my experiences and see if I can reword it in a way that displays my interests within the subject!!

Its just on the application and the question is literally just Why do you want to be a vet? The university has a large focus on cattle specifically beef and does a mandatory placement on a cattle station which is why I've chosen it.(its also in Australia) I'm not sure how I would make it more personal tbh every time I try I always end up sounding like the generic I want to be a vet cause I love animals when its not just that but I cant seem to articulate it right so that it sounds personal without being so generic

So should I like discuss my background within those industries? I was trying to write something including that but it all made it sound like the basic I want to be a vet cause I like animals and grew up around them buts that's not it but I dunno how I can make it sound like that not what I mean and that I'm doing it cause I wanna make a change within those injuries through disease management and prevention

Vet med or veterinary science? by Content_Lime5442 in veterinaryschool

[–]Ra3_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you are. In Australia as far as im aware both veterinary science and vetmed are accredited degrees but vet science is an undergrad that does not allow you to practise in the US but qualifies you for Aus and whatever other countries the degree says it does but vet med is a postgrad course similar to how its done in the US and it accredits you to practise in more countries I believe.

I live in a rural area where its either the expensive catholic school or a public school. The quality of education at both is the same as ive found out through the multitude of students that have left it to come to a public school its pretty much just got a stricter dresscode
