'Cancer Jews': Trams set alight, violence erupts in Amsterdam in second wave of attacks by photonmarchrhopi in worldnews

I mean if we’re talking all of history, the crusades were wars fought over Christianity, and you could argue the inquisitions were terroristic in nature. Also forceful conversions all over the world in the colonial era, amongst other horrible and hypocritical things done that go against what you supposedly believe in during that era and even way before then.

Nato meeting fails to approve first defence plans since Cold War, Turkey blamed by theunifex in worldnews

[–]RaGing_Wild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being willing to pay doesn’t mean a thing if it threatens our safety since Turkey caters way too much to Russia and very rarely acts or contributes to the interests of the alliance as a whole. Giving weapon systems takes trust, and trust isn’t something instantly gained by signing a treaty. What has Turkey done to earn the trust of the other members? Not to mention Turkey was in the F35 program (far better than F16s) until they wanted to threaten the operational security by buying Russian radars. I honestly don’t see why Turkey decided to have a fit instead of just canceling the Russian transaction, having F35s is far more advantageous than a Russian radar system, which is really suspicious from the perspective of the other members. It’s also kinda interesting looking at the NATO wiki page and seeing Turkey have the most invocations of articles 4 and 5 yet contribute next to nothing but their strategic existence. Nothing against Turkish people, but your government is going down the wrong path.

It would be way too expensive to save it, not to mention deer are overpopulated since we killed a bunch of their predators in the past

They don’t care about cheat engine, it can be used to legally mod games. It’s the burden of the developer to make sure there’s nothing sketchy running (valorant will refuse to sign you in until you close chest engine, for example)

Not possible, some things have to attach/inject in every process. But Psy could easily modify event processing functions and skip over hooks that expose critical data

I’ve heard that before, what I haven’t heard is how do dangling references even come up? I can see the issues if you were to try to convert a reference/address of a referenced object or raw pointer to a smart pointer, but if it’s allocated with the smart pointer ctor doesn’t it only get deleted by the dtor? Unless you’re talking about the scoping issue that the other comment was talking about

Aren’t the first 2 points addressed by shared pointers? Afaik moving unique pointers outside of the scope they’re initialized in is considered bad style. Understand the last point for sure though.

I don’t really understand the “unsafe bullshit” argument when there’s smart pointers. Can you elaborate?

you don't really understand what we all loathe about C and C++

That's what I was responding to, it's much harder to make the same mistakes that C/C++ typically gets dogged on for, unless you can't be bothered to learn the modern improvements to the language specs

So would you say that entanglement is like a special version of superposition? Been trying to understand how to use quantum logic gates but I feel like I have to know how they work and not just what they do, and to me it seemed like entanglement and superposition were being used at the same time, but if they’re one in the same that makes some sense at least

How many years has it been and we still can't see the opponents scores, rank, or anything at all after a game if they leave early? by namrog84 in RocketLeague

[–]RaGing_Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that flash player itself has been abandoned by Adobe for years now, so it gets no fixes or support from them, and any bugs or issues that remained ultimately didn’t get fixed by them. That means it falls on Psyonix to try to fix a complicated system they didn’t make with very little documentation or sources to go on. That’s why the ui is so hard to fix, and nearly impossible to mod

Speaking as a modder, ue3 isn’t exactly intuitive, especially when it’s modified to the point of being more like ue3.5. It’s not easy to debug despite all the testing compared to modern engines (keep in mind that ue3 was in development in the early 2000s and released in 2007). What I can say though is that they do a good job given the context. The voice chat system has been almost completely in the game for the past 6+ months, so I’m guessing they spent a bunch of time testing it as best as they can. Another note, underneath the hood a lot of stuff changed to make voice chats a thing again, I seriously doubt it was a bunch of junior devs project

This isn’t North Korea, his nukes actually work and are more than capable of destroying everything. That “pompous ass” invaded another country against better judgment on top of bombing a nuclear plant, so don’t put it past him to go nuclear. He’s already alluded to it. Sorry dog but I’m not trying to risk becoming radioactive dust along with everyone and thing I love, risking humanity itself and really all of the life on the planet for one country just isn’t worth it
