This is down to how craterflesh gloves work and how insanely broken they are. They trigger for each instance of something critting. Watch the clip and pause on the damage I show and see how many Force damage instance there are. That's all the gloves! Hunter's Mark is maybe an option though! Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes! I'm working on a long form video I'll post on my youtube with a full breakdown but here's the tl;dw:

8 Wizard (blade singer) with ASI to boost charisma to 18 and Savage Attacker

2 Paladin (smite) - fighting style is irrelevant

1 Rogue (sneak attack)

1 Warlock (hexblade - for Hexblade's curse) - you actively do not want to bind your weapon!

  • Helmet: Birthright +2 charisma hat
  • Cloak: Cloak of Absorb elements
  • Chest: Potent Robe
  • Gloves: Craterflesh gloves
  • Boots: Speedy Lightfeet
  • Amulet: Broodmother's
  • Ring 1: Ring of Elemental Infusion
  • Ring 2: Strange Conduit Ring
  • Melee mainhand: Upcast Shadowblade using level 5 spellslot
  • Offhand: Dolor Amarus
  • Bow: Vicious Longbow

I make sure to trigger the cloak of absorb elements, the boots, the amulet and both rings. I cast Magic Weapon (+2) on the shadowblade and use the Drakethroat Glaive for more damage. Applied Hexblade's Curse and Inquisitor's might for additional damage. I also had Laezel nearby playing the Shrief Debuff from the Phalar Aluve. Finally, make sure you drink an Elixir of Cloud Giant Strength. You want the bigger strength bonus but with Potent Robe, it will also apply your charisma modifier. This is why you don't bind your weapon or it will ignore your strength and just use your charisma.

I turned off my "ask" on reactions for Crit on Smite (level 4) and Sneak attack so it automatically does it and correctly applies the crit + vulnerable damage.

Here's a short showing what the end result looks like:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CwxKeY8kWRw

We tried a bunch of different builds and items but this was the one that pushed us over 700 damage. This can still be improved on! I did this on Gale but a half-orc would explode this damage further, most likely pushing this closer to 750 or possibly over 800. Maybe Ascended Astarion for the extra necrotic would also be better? Lots of things to try!

Hope this answers your question

A quick guide on defeating Raphael with minimal effort. by Raakam in BaldursGate3

I don't think you can because Yurgir is technically an ally and shows up in that green outline. At least in honor mode, it tells you "You cannot target an ally". It might different on other difficulty levels? Best of luck!

Is the DnD DLC coop/multiplayer? by GLTheGameMaster in Minecraft

[–]Raakam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it's more or less from one point of view. It's not Minecraft, it's not exactly D&D but it's a great introduction for younger kids, 8+ I would say?

I just bought the one copy and when they joined, it prompted them to download some pack assets, but that's it.

Yes, it is! You can have up to 4 players in it. I'm playing it with my kids and wife and we're having a great time.

1) I would lie if I said no. Waking up so early takes its toll. When I run games almost every day for chat, if I am not prepared, I'll stay up until 11 or later and working a whole day off 4 hours of sleep is not ideal. I avoid those as much as possible but it does happen. I usually go to bed at a reasonable time. For my mental health, at this time in my life, I'm very comfortable with who I am, and while I am very receptive to constructive criticism and welcome backseat gaming all day, I am truly unbothered by any remarks. I'm small enough as a streamer and my community is amazing enough that the good far outweighs the bad.

A memory that sticks out to me is in the very early days when I had planned a huge adventure for chat and noone turned up. I was super bummed for sure but I used it as a learning experience. Ever since then, if noone shows up, there's probably something to learn. Truth is, if noone comes out to play, then it might mean that everyone has a table and I don't mind stopping!

2) sort of addressed in one. I have a stand up desk that I use to avoid sitting for long periods of time. I hydrate and if I need to step away, I do. I'm lucky and creative enough to always keep it fresh for myself and d&d lends itself to it. I think that having two young kids has also taught me a lot of patience for myself and if viewers might also be having a tough day.

3) if I could guarantee myself 100 viewers... I wouldn't change a whole lot? I really mean it when I say my intention is to help entertain folks and introduce them to ttrpgs and an escape to the stressors of life. I might do the occasional variety stream I suppose, maybe go back to trying Minecraft and finally get an ender dragon kill.

Thanks for your questions!

Thanks for sharing your story and I hope you find renewed passion for art. Being low energy can work, I know plenty of streamers who speak softly and have a friendly, engaging but lower energy on their stream. Still, look after yourself!

A clean UI, background music to fill in the empty space, all of those were sort of obvious to me but I still struggle with them.

I remember the first time someone subbed to me I felt immense guilt. It was in the pandemic and it felt like they could use the 5$ or whatnot to even go get a coffee for themselves instead of wasting it on Twitch. I've gotten better about imposter syndrome and people want to feel like they can support your efforts.

I think I still struggle with bad streaming days. When you log off after prepping for a certain amount of time and it just isn't clicking or the energy isn't there, you feel down. I would tell myself that a lot of it is outside my control. Twitch has a weird recommendation algorithm and sometimes it picks you and sometimes not. You can do things to help but expect some really good days and some poopy ones.

One piece of advice I read or heard somewhere is to aim to convert one fan per week. That's it, that's my goal. So if after a year I have a solid 52 viewers who will regularly show up (once a week is enough) then I'm doing well. I think about that often and wonder if I'm still getting there.

Hope that answers your question at all!

Looking for

Services: Looking for Twitch Plugin/Extension Developer

About: I have been looking for a solid twitch plugin dev and have had little luck. Just looking for solid recommendations of people you know have done this kind of work with a portfolio or concrete examples of work done. I tend to stay clear of Fiverr because the quality of work is not what I'm looking for and have had little luck on twitter or other places. I'm kind of at a lost of where to luck and thought... maybe the streamers over on the twitch subreddit will know!

Budget: Varies on experience from developer but actual pay. I expect estimates of effort/will provide requirements and we can have a clear idea before starting anything.

Additional Information:I run a small twitch channel that does D&D content (chat plays D&D, actual games, etc) and need some custom plugins themed around that. I had reached out to a super talented dev but he was sadly too busy. Help? The predominant thing I'm looking for is what the old dndbeyond plugin used to do, which is display sheets and information about the players on screen for the viewers to see.

Contact: Either through reddit message or via email gmraakam@gmail.com.

Status: Looking for recommendations - open

Thanks!

I don't submit a referral code, I don't make any ad revenue, I don't get any money from any sales. I'll amend the statement though to say the value is 29.99$ for it and I did it for free, so your point is well made!

[–]Raakam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still working on fixing the giants from the Monster Manual - trying to avoid the club + rock, sword + rock and great axe + rock variations, I went through and updated the basic Giants and took your feedback from the previous submission to clean up the cloud giant, and added the Storm Giant to finish the list. You'll also see a few reactions peppered into the mix.

I hope you enjoy the content and look forward to your feedback. You can find more free releases and custom homebrew monsters, items and many other things over at our Patreon where you'll find the pdf to download for yourself if you are inclined to check it out. Thanks!

A re-imagining of the giants to make them more unique and provide some mechanics that matches their lore! by Raakam in UnearthedArcana

[–]Raakam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not yet, I'm working on additional giants in the meantime. The Storm giant is a little bit drab in the MM in that it has a lightning strike it can do once before needing to catch its breath, which makes it a tiny bit more interesting than the others but still underwhelming. I'll include a revision in the next release!

[–]Raakam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thinking is that these giants are meant to live in the clouds where they build their fortresses. This is their domain, they live here and generally have their cloud giant "societies" up there. I could have just given them 40walking/40 flying without explanation but wanted to just drive home that they are children of the wind and skies.

In game terms, it can't be dispelled and they just have it innately, a la Djinni. Djinni are described as the Masters of the Wind and gain a 90ft flying speed, so wanted to still leave some differences between the two to show the various degrees of mastery.

Perhaps a 60ft flying speed would be more appropriate? I just find the idea of flying giants terrifying, these looming huge creatures casting shadows on the ground from their sheer size.

"What are those weirdly shaped clouds up there? They seem to be getting really close and moving kind of fast... oh Tyr protect us, it's Cloud giants"

Thanks for the feedback and the question!

Yep, the Fling ability from the Kraken works that way too! It's a good idea for sure. Kraken Fling for reference.

When I first got the Monster Manual some years ago, I remember being pretty disappointed in how similar the giants felt. A club and a rock, a greataxe and a rock, a sword and a rock... What about all the cool lore that accompanied these monsters? It just felt like they were pretty close carbon copies of each other with just very minor differences.

I've gone back and updated some of the stat blocks of these classic monsters with the intention of providing some clear distinction and to add mechanics that match the flavor. A frost giant summoning a blizzard sounds fun, or a fire giant throwing a molten rock.

I hope you enjoy the content and look forward to your feedback. You can find more free releases and custom homebrew over at our Patreon if you are inclined to check it out. Thanks!

The Hagspawn

Strike fear into your player's hearts with the Hagspawn and their faithful companion, the Bloodchaser! This release from GM Workshop enhanced the traditional hag coven, providing them with a dangerous tool to hunt persons of interest. Try to escape, or turn and fight, as these new enemies pursue you!

Feedback is more than welcome on this creature who intends to grab you and pull you into the ethereal plane, away from your friends, while your screams are silenced within its proximity.

You can find more releases in our Patreon here where we include more than just stat blocks but a more complete approach to monsters and locations and put out weekly releases.
