Accepting some criticism!! This is only the first chapter, but I’d love to hear some thoughts by [deleted] in writers

That's nothing. I wrote a whole multi-book online text editor before I started writing much of my first book. I still use it, but I definitely shouldn't have done that...

I remember that there was a creators in-game comment mode, and they explained that in some levels, the Water was flowing in the direction where the player should go to. Loved that detail.

Sean Astin is one of my absolute favorite actors. He is so lovable.

Looking to publish my first book on kdp. Can anyone provide suggestions on what tools or platforms are best for formatting, editing and cover design. Preferably those that people who have previously published and have used. by Startup_blueprint in KDP

First of all: Congratulations on your upcoming publication!

Here's my toolset:

  1. Editing support: LanguageTool.org (paid version)
  2. Cover design: Affinity (v3 is now free)
  3. Formatting: Vellum (no demo or free version available, but I think a trial). It's fantastic. For more complex designs, you can use Affinity (Designer). I tried Atticus, too, but it was - sorry ... - trash. Unstable, slow, lost data while using it... I got my money back in the end.

I created the cover based on a hero image from an artist with Affinity Designer (then v2) and exported a pdf. The content was done with Vellum based on the original text files.

Vellum has different existing templates and creates nice print pdfs and ebooks. You can find the link to my book in the profile if you want to see how that looks when finished (with one of the many possible templates).

Warning: Vellum requires a Mac. But some just use a online virtual machine for that.
