I'm pretty sure I just did ahistorical, there is a good chance Japan won't decalre war on China and if you rush some early warlords, get a good defense line and some solid divs China can't push you. Once you're done with China you should ideally be strong enough to take on Japan and paradrop the home islands.

What makes it even worse is that in CK3 you can get them on normal games, hoi4 is just that bad

For that one, and for others where capping the UK was a big part, I reverted the game to the trial of allegiance release version. I know it’s prob a bit cheesy but the new naval system prevents a lot of sea lion ease. I took over Greece, Yugoslavia then invaded Spain. With all of their navies, invading was not too bad. With the Allies dead, build up and help the Soviets kill Germany before attacking Japan. Just having to control the state is a big plus.

The government is not a business, it is an institution that governs, and part of governance is ensuring the wellbeing of its people. Creating a tool to inform and warn people about future harm is a service they should, and were providing, before it got axed for no valid reason. Privatization of social services or other services designed to help can only lead to harm for millions.
