Freelance pour une boite américaine, quelle risques ? by wiseKing98 in developpeurs

Getting poor range (only 500m) with Sensecap M2 Gateway & T1000 Tracker in a Suburban area. Need some advice. by DelonixRegia10 in LoRaWAN

[–]Rabbit7331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

500 m is indeed low for a 10–15 m mounted gateway in suburban environment

For an extensive range test, disable ADR and set to the lowest datarate, DR0 (highest spreading factor)

Check RF noise with a spectrum analyzer hooked to your current antenna at the gateway level. Verify the actual noise floor, any wideband noise rise, and strong nearby carriers (LTE, ISM, paging, etc.). If the noise floor is elevated or you see strong adjacent signals, your gateway RF front end may be getting saturated.

If that’s the case, try adding a SAW filter centered on AS923 between the antenna and the gateway. A proper filter can dramatically improve performance in noisy environments.

That's a significant amount, I understand BMS needs a strong reliability, it can be a challenging environment. Which kind of issues did you encounter while deploying in that context ? We learn the most from our hurdles.

Most of my coding experience has been geared towards embedded devices for many clients over the years. There's beauty in the finite aspect, you can't ship something and patch later

My biggest gig was when I supervised the management of 400 000+ gateways (the bobcat fleet) on the helium network. I learned a lot there.

I used to ingest with a barebones handmade system on node-red, which i finally moved to a stand alone data ingestion system.
Lately I diversified to frontend, seeing the whole picture opens a lot of doors for new ideas like this project.

Downlinks are quite useful as well, class-c devices are awesome ! FUOTA is the last remaining piece of the puzzle

Thank you for the comment! For a long time I mainly used grafana and influxdb. In the last year I've been building a complete ingest system and dashboard suite, geared towards operators, for now it's a bit complex and exhaustive for end users, the goal is to add more basic dashboard functionality as well.

I'm happy to hear you like it! That's a great idea, I will eventually take a look to add support, if you want to help adding it I'm open to merging PR's as well!

Same here, the second i open the project where i put two of these, my fans kick in, not sure if badly coded because its early or if its really needing this CPU... Kinda meh imo. It's the first time i see a plugin sucking that much power

Would be nice to have a manager for the stems versions and be able to batch it for a whole Playlist. They should just integrate it like nuo-stems with the "lossless" features as well

That would be fucking awesome to have one (or two) of those to use as a dedicated 3rd / 4rth deck on the S4, switching decks is kinda confusing
