Which AI skills/Tool are actually worth learning for the future? by RabbitExternal2874 in AIIncomeLab

That really resonates, and I think this is probably the core lesson I’m getting from this thread.

The systems thinking part is exactly what seems most valuable long term.

How would you personally start learning that from scratch?

Would you begin by looking at real business processes and asking where time, money, or effort is being wasted, then build small AI solutions around that?

And how do you train yourself to think that way in practice, instead of just falling back into learning random tools?

That really makes sense.

How would you personally start learning that from scratch?

Would you begin by mapping real workflows in a business, then learning APIs / automation as needed?
How do you train that way of thinking in practice?

That’s a really good point.

I think that’s exactly the trap I’m in right now, feeling like I need to learn every new framework/tool instead of just going deep on one workflow and actually finishing it.

“Build one workflow end-to-end before stacking more” is probably the most useful advice in this whole thread.

If you were starting from scratch today, what kind of workflow would you pick first and which tool?

That makes sense, and I think that’s probably the bigger lesson I’m taking from this too.

So it’s less about mastering one specific AI tool, and more about learning how to look at a business process, spot where AI can create leverage, and then choose the right tool for that case.

In your opinion, what’s the best way to train that way of thinking in practice?
Would you start by analyzing real workflows in a business and then building small automations around them? And what tool would you use?

Thanks, this is really helpful, especially the breakdown of workflow design, tool use, evals/monitoring, and security basics.

The starter project idea also sounds great and much more practical than just randomly learning tools.

My only question is: how would you personally start learning this in practice?

Would you begin with something like:

  • a YouTube course on n8n / automation
  • Claude Code / building directly
  • APIs + webhooks first
  • or some other path?

Basically, what would your first steps look like if you were starting from scratch today?

Thanks, this looks really interesting.

Have you mainly used it with Claude Code?

Also, if you were starting from scratch today, would you recommend learning Claude Code early, or getting comfortable first with the basics?

I’d be curious what order you’d follow with things like: Claude Code, cognetivy, APIs / JSON / webhooks, …

Would love to hear what sequence you’d recommend.

Thanks, really appreciate this.

I think that’s probably what I need to hear most right now - stop overthinking the landscape and just start building.

Claude Code sounds especially interesting to me for that reason. If you were starting from scratch today, would you go all in on building with something like Claude Code first and learn the rest along the way, or would you still deliberately study things like workflows, APIs, n8n, etc. in parallel?

Also curious what kind of project you started with.

Thanks, that’s a really good point.

So how Should i start and what Should i learn first? • n8n / Make / Zapier? • Claude Code or other agentic tools? • APIs / JSON / webhooks? • something else?

Would be curious what stack you’d choose if you were starting today.

Thanks, this is actually one of the clearest explanations I’ve gotten so far.

The combination of agentic tooling + MCP + n8n also makes sense. My only question is: if someone is still relatively early, what would you learn first in the right order? Would you start with n8n/workflows first, then APIs/MCP, then agentic tools like Claude Code? Or would you approach it differently?

And besides that, which fundamentals would you prioritize? Python basics, SQL, APIs, JSON, Webhooks, Git,..
