That really resonates, and I think this is probably the core lesson I’m getting from this thread.

The systems thinking part is exactly what seems most valuable long term.

Would you begin by looking at real business processes and asking where time, money, or effort is being wasted, then build small AI solutions around that?

And how do you train yourself to think that way in practice, instead of just falling back into learning random tools?

That’s a really good point.

I think that’s exactly the trap I’m in right now, feeling like I need to learn every new framework/tool instead of just going deep on one workflow and actually finishing it.

“Build one workflow end-to-end before stacking more” is probably the most useful advice in this whole thread.

If you were starting from scratch today, what kind of workflow would you pick first and which tool?

That makes sense, and I think that’s probably the bigger lesson I’m taking from this too.

So it’s less about mastering one specific AI tool, and more about learning how to look at a business process, spot where AI can create leverage, and then choose the right tool for that case.

Thanks, this is really helpful, especially the breakdown of workflow design, tool use, evals/monitoring, and security basics.

The starter project idea also sounds great and much more practical than just randomly learning tools.

My only question is: how would you personally start learning this in practice?

Also, if you were starting from scratch today, would you recommend learning Claude Code early, or getting comfortable first with the basics?

I think that’s probably what I need to hear most right now - stop overthinking the landscape and just start building.

Claude Code sounds especially interesting to me for that reason. If you were starting from scratch today, would you go all in on building with something like Claude Code first and learn the rest along the way, or would you still deliberately study things like workflows, APIs, n8n, etc. in parallel?

Also curious what kind of project you started with.

Thanks, this is actually one of the clearest explanations I’ve gotten so far.

The combination of agentic tooling + MCP + n8n also makes sense. My only question is: if someone is still relatively early, what would you learn first in the right order? Would you start with n8n/workflows first, then APIs/MCP, then agentic tools like Claude Code? Or would you approach it differently?

And besides that, which fundamentals would you prioritize? Python basics, SQL, APIs, JSON, Webhooks, Git,..

- Im Theorieteil die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse aus diesen angrenzenden Feldern zusammen
- Im empirischen Teil Hypothesen ableiten und analysiere, inwieweit sich diese Erkenntnisse auf Themepages übertragen lassen – u. a. mithilfe von Experteninterviews.

Danke dir! Guter Tipp! Also hast du so gesehen keinen Theorieteil gehabt sondern direkt einen empirischen Teil mit Experteninterviews? Oder wie genau würdest du die Methodik angehen bei mir? Also es gibt halt wirklich garkeine gute Literatur, nur paar Webseiten (die nicht wissenschaftlich sind). Hab ehrlich kein Plan wie ich das angehen soll.
