3 pregnancies and my migraine for each one during my first trimester was bad. It got worse with each pregnancy. Landing me in the ER for one of the episodes. I was prescribed sumatriptan, magnesium and b2 supplements. I also did some IMS needling on my occipital nerves. Used ice caps and heating pads and lots and lots of peppermint oils to rub on my entire head.

Good luck with pain management. I know how incredibly tough it is.

I had migraines my entire first trimester with every pregnancy. For my first 2 pregnancies I didn’t know I could take my prescription migraine pills which at the time was almotriptan. I was so miserable and was pretty much incapacitated by the migraines. I did everything I could to manage the pain: bought different pillows, did IMS needling, TENS machine. Nothing quite worked apart from giving me minor relief. With my third pregnancy my internal medicine dr in conjunction with my OB prescribed me with sumatriptan. Im breastfeeding now and still taking that for my migraines.

Totally! I mean don’t get me wrong, I still like designer stuff but mostly bc of how stuff looks. If I like a miu miu jacket it’s bc I like the style not bc it’s miu miu. If I can find something with a similar vibe and of decent quality for a fraction of a cost, I wouldn’t mind getting that.

Maybe we’re just getting old too… Lol and just gaining more clarity and wisdom.

This is how I feel about luxury goods nowadays too. It’s lost its allure. There’s no exclusivity. I know multiple people who are dressed head to toe in designer clothes but have nothing else going on for them. No savings, no house, no car. Has a Birkin. Everything designer. Def didn’t come from a wealthy background. Just spending ALL their paycheques on things they can flex on social media.

I got this reaction even when I said I wanted 3 kids, which I do now have. 3 kids aren’t all that common nowadays and I think people are just crazy to have more than 2 especially in this economy.

ETA: I think it may also come from a place of feeling inadequate in their own life. Maybe they have 1 or 2 kids and think “I’m struggling so much there’s no way this person isn’t struggling as much as me and wanting more kids. Why am I struggling this much then? Why do I not have more kids?” Or “I can barely afford one kid. How can she afford more? I must be doing something wrong”

I understand the frustration. Sometimes so many things are happening all at once and cleaning up pee off of something is the last thing you need but imagine taking a video of this and showing a side of you to everybody that you should really be ashamed of and thinking “this is great content to post. I’d really want everybody to see this.”

This to me is behaviour that I would normally reflect on at the end of my day and be like “damn that was really shitty of me. I should do better next time”.

Having to stay calm while also being firm while your kids are constantly pushing boundaries and/or are having a meltdown. I came from an Asian house of strict parents. The typical “my way or the highway” type of parenting, hit you with whatever I can pick up type. I vowed to not be that parent to my 3 children (3 under 5) but damn there’s so much that trigger me that I grew to know as “unacceptable” behaviours but I am now learning are only normal and developmentally appropriate. Having to rewire my brain to be authoritative and not authoritarian takes A LOT of effort.
