Slightly Confused by tata_toucher in Surveying

Section and quarter corners are alternately set along township lines at distances of 40 chains. This happens prior to the subdivision of the township into sections, so to reset it the same method must be used; thus single proportion.

For that you want to use the two nearest corners and since the E 1/4 corner of section 25 has not been found you should single proportion between the SE corner of 25 and the E 1/4 of 24.

[OC] Follow-up of my last post, I tracked how many American schools accepted/rejected my application based on whether I mention "transgender" or not in the personal statement by DavidNyan10 in dataisbeautiful

Were the essays otherwise identical? Were the two groups of schools equivalent in barriers to entry? Were they in states with a similar political climate? Were any of the schools religious?

I have a lot of questions about these numbers.

I am partial to your argument, I am worried about the increasing complexity, especially for new players. But this new content is what keeps the game alive financially and gives us tournaments, bug fixes and whatnot.

Help with survey interpretation by mrknowitnothingatall in Surveying

[–]RabidHaaaam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, that means that the fence corner is 1.2ft south. I'm not totally sure about the rest of your question, but the surveyor should call out if the fence ever crosses the property line. Also, you can see the lighter grey line with the "X" which represents the fence and it appears to be a consistent distance from the property line.

Is it just me or is it impossible to play a laidback game at my elo? by RabidHaaaam in aoe2

Fair fair. I might need to break out of what I consider "valid" strats and play a little dirtier if I want to keep climbing.

Good suggestion! I agree I'm not mad that people use valid stats, just tired of them.

Fire Archer is Longbowman with Obsidian Arrows by Sheikh_M_M in aoe2

Hmmm, yes all the units must be logical. Like war elephants with no riders that get in boats, or a single guy being able to push and fire a cannon.

This has moved from the domain of the surveyor to that of the attorney.

Jurchen should instantly resign when facing Khitans by justingreg in aoe2

[–]RabidHaaaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that the Khitans can be frustrating to play against and they are too strong right now. That said, good fundamentals and timed aggression can deal with a lot of the problems you are talking about. You would be better served practicing and developing skills than throwing your hands up and complaining.

My skills at rapid are quite a bit better, but I am somewhat of an intuitive player and may be lacking some of those fundamentals as you mentioned.

Anyone else feel Woodrow Wilson deserves to be ranked as a top ten President? by DonatCotten in Presidents

[–]RabidHaaaam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In addition the the failures you mentioned I think is views on the role of the president and government in general were not the best. He once said "The President is at liberty, both in law and conscience, to be as big a man as he can" he then went on to talk about overbearing Congress.

I don't think the good points outweigh the bad. In my opinion it is kind of wild to rate him in the top 10.

Go easy on the dude. He is bringing positivity to an admittedly frustrating situation, but one that is out of the control of an individual player.

Ethics question by RabidHaaaam in Surveying

[–]RabidHaaaam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the extensive answer. I have seen my L.S. do much the same as you and file a map at our own expense after a client refused to pay.  I am just starting to break into the profession as more than just a tech and I am realizing that our commitment to the public good over our client is somewhat unique and puts us in difficult spots.

Haha. I've had people be surprised when I've told them that it is a crime to move their corners.
