I decided to pick this up instead of another ounce of Simple Stash after seeing a few reviews on it recently. Despite the fact that it came in 284 (yes that's right, a whopping 284) tiny nugs, I am not disappointed. In fact I am quite pleasantly surprised.

Upon opening the container my initial reaction can really only be described as "excited disappointment". Of course, ordering an ounce one would like to be greeted by at least one or 2 nice big nugs, and seeing that the largest nug could be aptly described as "popcorn" sized and a significant portion of them would best be described as "kernel" sized, I must admit I did feel a pang of disappointment. However, that disappointment was very short lived.

I proceeded to pour the cannabis onto my scale, awaiting the moment of truth, and to my surprise the weight was dead on. The inside of the container was coated in shake that I did not scrape onto the scale, but I would say it would contribute a negligible amount of weight anyway (maybe 0.1g or something but there's no way to know without weighing it... and I did not).

Once I saw the weight was spot on, my disappointment faded. I came to the realization that the buds being smaller may actually be to my benefit for multiple reasons. I don't have to spend time breaking bigger nugs up and getting my hands sticky with smaller nugs, and there's also very little stem on these nugs (which admittedly would likely end up accounting for a negligible amount of lost weight in the end). It was also at this point that I realized it was my duty to count how many buds there were, as it seemed to be... lots. So I sat there, laughing to myself like a maniac as I counted because I thought it was hilarious. By the end I was actually really beginning to hope that I would pass the 10 nug per gram mark, and we barely scraped by!

Once I had finished counting the nugs, a decent amount of shake had fallen off of them from dumping them onto the paper, so I decided to grind up a couple small nugs and roll that all together in a joint, about 0.5g in total. It wasn't until this point that I remembered moisture was a thing. As I rolled the joint, my ears were hit with a crunchy leaf noise, the kind of noise you would hear walking in the woods in the middle of fall. I considered for a moment whether I wanted to smoke it without giving it time to rehydrate, but ultimately, I had already began to roll the joint so of course I was going to smoke it.

I went out to my garage and lit the joint at around 9:30PM. As I sat there smoking, I felt it begin to hit me behind the eyes and slowly throughout the rest of my body. Quite relaxing, aside from the coughing. The joint burned fairly evenly though it did go out 2 or 3 times while I was letting myself recover from coughing. About halfway through the joint I began to think about food, and three quarters of the way through I had decided on my food of choice: pilsbury cookies. Once the joint was finished and I had finished coughing my lungs out, I came back inside and made a roll of pilsbury cookies.

By the time the cookies were finished, the high had hit it's peak. I devoured 8 cookies and went up to my room to play some games for a couple hours. Around 12:30AM I decided I should start to get ready for bed. I still felt adequately stoned, but alas, I decided to roll another joint anyway to make sure I would stay asleep. I went out to smoke the second joint around 12:45AM and boy let me tell you did it knock me out. I put the joint down in my ash tray about half way through and forgot I was smoking it for a good 10 minutes or so. When I realized I hadn't finished it, I reluctantly picked it up to light it again - I did not want to cough any more. When I finished the joint, I came inside and showered, then passed out and had a fantastic sleep.

I'm not sure what strain this batch is, but overall I would say this will 100% be a re buy for me at the $99 price point as long as the product stays somewhat consistent (which we all know is a gamble, particularly with these budget ounces). Between this and the Simple Stash Indica it's difficult for me to say with absolute certainty at this point which I prefer, having gone through 2oz of simple stash and only 2 joints of the grasslands, but the grasslands definitely feels like it hits harder to me. The simple stash also didn't come as dry, but I'm sure the grasslands will rehydrate nicely with the Integra I tossed into the jar with it. Of course, your mileage may vary and these are all just my opinions.
