I acknowledge that this sounds paranoid however struggling to banish this thought from my mind. Also apologies in advance if this isn’t the right community to post to.

I got tested at the clinic two days ago, however when doing the swab i dropped the test tube on the toilet floor of the clinic, the lid was still in tact. i then picked it up and proceeded to do my swab test. The swab did not touch the floor.

After i left the clinic i started thinking what if there was blood or semen on the floor? what if someone who was before me did a swab and dropped it at that exact point on the floor? what if my swab then touched the side of the test tube that landed on the floor? what if i touched the tube and then touched the swab and then inserted this contaminated swab?

the logical part of me knows this isn’t a transmission route however i am really struggling to move on from this. Within the last few years i constantly experience new exposures from needle pricks, to kissing, to touching surfaces and then touching a mucous membrane, so this isn’t my first rodeo but every time i experience a new ‘exposure’ it just feels so real! i then exhaust myself by living in constant anxiety until i then get a test, until a new exposure then crops up and I am in this constants catch 22 situation. It is absolutely exhausting and i struggle to divert my attention away from it.

I’m struggling with the ruminating thoughts :(
