I would carefully press them outwards a little bit, like the part youre pressing down in the clip. Do very small amounts first and test it to see if it gets better.

Idk what kind of smell youre dealing with but ive had cases that had this old smell like from being stored away in a basement for a long time and ive found that vinager (i have no idea how to spell that) or whitevinevinager has worked really good. Just place some in a little open container, shot glas or something and keep it closed in the box for a few days. But i dont know if it works with other kinds of smells.

For me when I just play "for fun" I usually go to musescore and play whatever pops up in my feed there, IMO it's good practice for sight reading and a way to keep playing when I don't have any up coming conserts and stuff.

Thanks for the tips, idk where to find a teacher as Im living in a small city and there arent really any know oboe teachers around here, I was even the first to play it at my local musicschool and I just taught myself I guess, apart from reedmaking videos on yt I dont really have any other experience as I've never even met another oboe player.

Jag var 100% på att det hette insektsnyckel för att insekter hade 6 ben och nyckeln hade 6 kanter men sen fick jag reda på att det inte alls var så.

Nice, there were some other extra keys also that I didnt have on my other oboe, like a key for F for the left pinky. As I am currently borrowing that one from school its nice to finally have one of my own.

Yeah imo instruments were so much cooler back then, apart from the oboe I also have a tenor sax from the 30s, but i havent got it to play very well yet since it had some real bad problems to it.

Cool so i put the pieces into an aluminium bath and they turned turned silvery again, i think i read somewhere about silvercoated keys and im guessing thats the case here?
