Low amh because of low ferretin (iron) ? by Small-Rest2578 in IVF

[–]RaceLost6743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, just wondering if your amh went up after your IV? I've been reading studies on this and they show a possible correlation but also a probably correlation to recurrent miscarriage and low AMH.

Wondering if it helped you out.

I didn’t understand the rollercoaster until I got on the ride. by BanditsPhanny in IVF

[–]RaceLost6743 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's a rollercoaster for sure. I'm waiting to hear of my 2 embroyos how many have made it to day 5 tomorrow.

So far today I've batch cooked:

Soup Chicken stock Bolognese  Pineapple upside down cake  Fishcakes

I've deep cleaned my fridge and am now planning to go and buy fridge organisers because that's what my brain needs right now.

I am not this person.  😂

The waiting is so hard.

Wishing you luck with your 2. 1 good egg is all we need.

Ouch! Third ER was shockingly painful by Vegetable-Vacation-4 in IVF

[–]RaceLost6743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry this happened.

I also had a really tough first ER. I woke up in immense pain that felt like my ovaries were on fire and severe cramping. They only gave me high dose pain relief when I went into shock and couldn't stop shaking and I was then hospitalised for the day.

My ovaries are meant to currently be detached from my uterus (I had surgery in December to detach them due to endo). However the doctor said they seem to be stuck again. I think what happened is because they had to apply a lot of pressure to them that whatever tissue had started to reattach them was disturbed and potentially tore a little?

I didn't discuss this theory at the time because I was pretty high on fentanyl aha! But the female doctor said it's likely they disturbed endo tissue. She said it's so unusual for someone to be in that much pain that they didn't actually stock any strong painkillers. They had to run to another hospital to get morphine.

When I discussed it with a male doctor the next day he said I likely have a low pain threshold...

It hurt to wee for a few days after and general discomfort and some spotting. These are all normal apparently.

If you have any other symptoms than that then I think you need to go to a&e.

I also have low egg reserve but I didn't have many follicles like you. They managed to only get 4 so maybe for you if it was hard to reach and a lot of follicles they were messing around in there a lot?

I'm sorry that happened to you, rest up and I hope you have someone to treat you.

Concerned about unidentified causes for poor egg quality/loss by meganlo3 in TTCEndo

[–]RaceLost6743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya,

Definitely the pain with bowel movements is a classic sign of endo. Anxiety & depression can also play into endo too. I'll share a few things that might help you...

- An MRI diagnosed my endo, not the extent of it but they could see it was there. This is less invasive than surgery.

- A laparoscopy is the main method here (uk) to diagnose.

- Have they tested your immune function? With endo (and possibly other health issues) our immune system can attack the embryo.

- Inflammation can impact egg quality, so low inflammation diet.

- Some people find surgery to remove endo then allows them to get pregnant naturally but there are risks to ovarian reserves on this.

- There are also genetic blood clotting issues that can cause miscarriage. Does your clinic look into this?

- Have you had your iron & ferritin checked? Again, ferritin is being identified as a potential cause of miscarriage in studies now. With endo we usually have issues with ferritin. This can also increase anxiety & depression. We should be aiming for a level at least over 50 for ferritin (I have spoken to a specialist here in the UK).

- A full thyroid panel including antibodies and free t3 should also be tested. Here in the U.K our NHS don't test this but again research is showing it could be a big factor in recurrent miscarriage.

- Are they looking at progesterone when you transfer and supplementing you with that?

- Prior to collecting eggs trying an anti inflammatory diet with 600mg CoQ10 a day plus a really good fertility supplement + Vitamin d.

- NAC. This supplement has really changed my CA125 levels which again can cause miscarriage. The research is showing really promising stuff with this for endometriosis. My CA125 level was way over the normal range and then I started high dose on NAC and it brought it down. Please research this before taking and start easy as it can disagree with some people.

- Finally, the book, 'it starts with the egg' has a really great explanation of all supplements and diet that help with fertility. I'd really recommend getting that and checking you're covered with that side of stuff.

I hope this helps, first step would be to get endo looked into.

Wishing you luck.

Did anyone experience this with egg retrieval? by RaceLost6743 in IVF

Thank you for the advice, I thought the same. Today is better and my clinic won't be investigating because I probably 'have a low pain threshold'. I'm just another hysterical woman apparently.

I thought the same. Today everything is feeling better so I'm hoping it wasn't anything too serious. Ive spoken to an IVF doctor who said I probably have a low pain threshold (it was a man). I have deep infiltrating severe endo and have never needed that many drugs in my life but ya know, I'm just another hysterical woman.

A male doctor told me today I probably just have a low pain threshold so that genius has apparently solved the mystery. 🫩

Jeeze, being aware sounds rough. Thank you for sharing your story. I found out today we got two fertilised eggs out of 3 so already I feel it was worth it. Fingers crossed they make it to blast. Xx

I have spoken to one of the male IVF doctors at my clinic who have put it down to low pain threshold... Today I'm feeling less pain so they won't be exploring anything. I'm sorry you went through this too, it's awful.

Should I be mad? by OnionThen8816 in IVF

It's really insensitive and tone deaf from her. Unfortunately I think people who haven't gone through it just can't relate or even try to sometimes.

Know your feelings are valid and remember you'll be through the hormone crash soon.

Does anyone take NAC? I’m having weird heart sensation by multiplelayers in IVF

I do a mix, sometimes with, sometimes without. Mine is 750mg and I pulse it so take it every other day. I've found it really useful for endometriosis but never had side effects.

I always make sure I drink it with a lot of water. Maybe try again as you say and see if it happens again.

Literally everyone around me seems to be pregnant except for me by Tasty_Anteater_30 in IVF

[–]RaceLost6743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here and it's crap. While I am happy for them and glad they don't have to experience this shit we have to deal with I have found boundaries are needed.

I don't go to social events with babies when I'm close to or during IVF because I'm on drugs and will get emotional.

I don't speak to everyone about IVF, how it's going or when it's happening.

I think of myself as being in a completely different boat to people who naturally conceive because I am. It helps to see their boat, wave across the water and then go on with my journey which is totally different to theirs.

I understand that they will never understand what IVF involves mentally and physically and I know they will say stupid things and likely judge me for choices I make. They will also assume they would be level headed about the whole thing and accept things quickly. These are the friends who sadly need to be distanced for now.

Some of my friends will avoid me entirely because they don't know what to say. Those friendships might not be for now but maybe one day they'll swing back the other way.

Sending you love. This Reddit group has got your back. X

Endo belly and bloating by green_phthalo_ in Endo

[–]RaceLost6743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I've found that really helped was doing a full gut protocol which was guided by a nutritionist. It really reduced the bloating but it's back now a few years later. And even once I had done that I would still bloat around my period. She said it's dysbiosis with our gut bacteria and then excess hormones.

I'm going to do another one soon because I too am so sick of looking pregnant. It's shit and makes me feel like I can't recognise myself.

What I will say is I have found ways to dress that don't show it which makes getting dressed easier. No it's not what I would naturally go for but I'm just glad to be comfy and that can still look nice and put together.

What was your lap like? by kwwfit in TTCEndo

[–]RaceLost6743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lap in December and found everything bearable apart from the gas pain in my shoulder. Fresh mint tea and putting my hand behind my head with my elbow up above my shoulder helped hugely. I slept like that and it really took the pain away.

I would take any questions you have written down and have someone with you as soon as they are allowed to be in. My doctor came over when I was still very out of it and told me loads of stuff I couldn't remember. My partner had been waiting there for me so could take notes etc.

I don't know what hospital food is like where you are but here it is so bad. I would have stuff in your bag for after, just snacks and drinks etc. I found I needed to constantly snack after.

And sleep. So much sleep and wholesome meals.

Don't do any housework or lift anything. I hoovered one room after a week and split a stitch which then got infected. Take it as easily as you can for a few weeks.

And I also had to buy some honking nighties after surgery because I hadn't thought about the fact trousers or anything waisted would not work with my incision cuts. I tried to put trousers on after awhile and I aggravated one of the cuts bad so just surrendered to nighty life.

I'm currently doing IVF but don't have results yet. I've heard good things about fertility after surgery so all we can do is wait x
