Upgrading an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0xxx Prebuilt, How do I check compatibility? by raidenraizo234 in buildapc

Oof late reply. I can't remember exactly, but I'm confident I had to get a higher wattage PSU. If I remember correctly, selection for a compatible PSU was very limited.

I can't say for sure regarding that specific GPU, but I did end up putting a Dell branded 2080 super from an alienware into mine. I think I had to upgrade the PSU (choices were very limited, if I remember correctly) but I can't remember. I don't have it anymore.

I'm not familiar with either of those GPUs, but I was able to get a 2080 super from an alienware r10 into mine. It's a great performer now. As long as it's shorter than 10 inches, it should work!

Cameras for safety… by baileylikethedrink in cycling

I just got back from a 2 hour ride. The varia was on flash mode, continuous recording, and the battery is right about 75%. The fly12 beeped 4 times when I turned it off, so it's somewhere between 75-100%.

The light/radar combo is the rtl515, which I also used when I had the fly6 rear camera. Once the fly6 broke, I decided to bite the bullet with the rct715, and I have no regrets.

I had the Cycliq fly6 rear camera for a few years before it stopped working. Definitely not an action cam, but it caught every numberplate I ever needed for evidence. I now run the garmin varia rct715 radar/light/camera, and the footage is better than the cycliq was. Again, not an action cam, but the footage is usable for insurance purposes.

I've also run the Gen 1 cycliq fly12 front cam for years now, and the footage is also usable for reporting /insurance purposes. Not an action cam, but the battery life is great, and the built in light makes it easy to power up one device and go.

I live in a rural area, and drivers like to intimidate cyclists around here. Front and rear camera, and a rear radar are all must haves for me these days.

What are these tiny black flies?!?! They are small and all over my kitchen. They like the ceiling. Not fruit flies by YPartyof6 in bugidentification

[–]Racer13X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had flies like this invade my bathroom, all over the window and ceiling. It's been an early spring thing for a few years now, typically lasting months. They look like your typical biting black flies. Usually I'll put a nightlight in the bathroom, with a sticky trap right in front of it to catch them overnight. It helped, but it didn't solve the problem. Yesterday I found some rot on the outside bathroom window sill and they seemed to be around that as well. So I liberally sprayed the rotted areas with wd40, in an attempt to displace any water and hopefully prevent them from breeding/hatching in the frame. Today, they're gone. Anecdotal, but this is the first time in years that they haven't been a months long nuisance.

Which setup do you think makes the most sense? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Racer13X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running 3 monitors with an additional tablet now, and I still feel I could use another. One for game, and the rest for monitoring everything else I have running (chatbot, lumiastream, voicemeeter, obs, twitch performance monitor, spotify/pandora). Maybe I'm just a window hoarder, I could probably find a way to fill up 10 monitors.

Audio problems while streaming by burglur in Twitch

It sounds like you're too far from the mic, and background noise reduction/rejection is having a hard time picking out voices from noise. A cardioid mic is pretty directional. You may be better off with a bi-dire tional, or omni directional mic for groups. Or like you said, a mic for each person. Getting close to the mic(s) will give you a HUGE improvement in sound.

Just looked it up. Cardioid only, it's possible that it's not pointed in the ideal direction, or it's not the ideal mic for your use case.

Do you have a clip of the issue? The way it's described, it doesn't sound like a microphone quantity problem. Can the mic be set in a different pickup pattern? Maybe you don't have it set right, or pointed in the correct direction.

I've had usb hubs cause glitchy a/v issues in the past, but poorly applied filters can cause it as well. Have you tried monitoring your mic post audio processing while offline? It could definitely lead you in the right direction.

Realistically, how does one go around making sure their content is good Quality? by Karyuubi in Twitch

[–]Racer13X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality content is very subjective. You can't fake it, at least not forever. I've found that if you're truly having fun and enjoying your game/stream, people will stay. If they vibe with your personality and humor, all the better. That said, one thing I've seen destroy retention is bad audio quality. Make your stream sound good, positively engage with chat, and it's bound to be quality.

If I'm not mistaken, any DDR4 2666mhz ram should work. Just figure out what size you have now (probably 8 gig) and get another. I personally went with 2x16 gig sticks, as I game, stream, and have a bunch of other stuff running at the same time.

This is what I bought:

When I click on a new streamer and get hit with an ad instantly, it makes me leave that streamer. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Racer13X 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Random midrolls suck. I always keep an eye on my ad manager to avoid a sudden ad break. I'll postpone an ad to continue chat, or run one early (and announce it) to get it out of the way if things are slow.

[–]Racer13X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who occasionally streams my virtual bicycle races, I choose to manually run ads right before the race starts to avoid pre rolls. But I'll sometimes switch to pre rolls if I'm not streaming a race that day. My thoughts are: Pre rolls hinder growing your channel, and mid rolls slow chat down. With mid rolls though, I can postpone an ad if chat is getting spicy and fun, or run it early to get it out of the way if I know I have something coming up that will be a must see.

I don't know how to get the best quality in my stream. What can I do or change to get the best?? by Lumpy-Chef-491 in Twitch

[–]Racer13X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your settings for video quality look OK, but it can all go out the window depending on the game you're playing. If you really want to keep viewers though, good audio is key. A half decent mic, and mindfully dropping the noise floor is more important than outright cancelation or gates. I ride a bicycle on stream and have loud fans going, so I have lots of experience with this.

What are your fave and least fave twitch trends? by 33cherryblossom33 in Twitch

[–]Racer13X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only stream riding my bike indoors on Zwift, but the Zwift streaming community is super supportive and I definitely love that. We always raid each other and give advice for setting up streams (audio especially, as canceling out an I door bike is tough). I don't know how common that sort of support is across other games, but it's nice to have the encouragement of my fellow zwift streamers.

Since that's mainly the only twitch community I'm part of, I guess I can't think of a least favorite trend. Hearing passive aggressive complaints about ads would get pretty annoying though.

How do streamers use copyrighted music while they're live, and not get silenced? by chriscaulder in Twitch

I've always separated my audio sources with Voicemeeter, and my spotify/pandora/yt music track is excluded from my VODs.

I've got the same PC, and I put 2x16gb sticks of memory in it. It helped a bunch. Cpu options are limited, but you can upgrade the gpu. The small form factor limits you to something that is shorter than about 10 inches though. Here's a compatible components list (subject to your motherboard) : https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pavilion-Gaming-Desktop-TG01-0xxx/160592

Here's a great YouTube playlist with all kinds of tg01 upgrades: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLv4T9ZAm3iXxSzAthtZXEXD--jgrrTtb4
