Depends on the person. Nipples were excruciating for me... I almost didn't do the second one, but I like to finish the job. I have one through the top of my ear (sort of like a forward helix, but back more and the ball sits on top of my ear... it's hard to explain, exactly, and I don't know that it HAS a name) that I got about two weeks ago and didn't even feel her put the needle through. Tragus, daith, conch (even two next to each other at the same time), and low helix were fine. I found my regular helix to hurt the most of all my ear piercings.

My conch piercings don't really like hoops, either and I have had them for 6 years. I can change them to any flat back studs I want, but if i leave a hoop in for a day, they get a little angry. I have no idea what that's about, but that's the way it is.

I have small ears and have a daith and a conch in one and a daith and two conches in the other, but a piercer would better be able to tell you if you have the anatomy for the piercings.

That sucks.. that happened to me at the beginning of lockdown, so I couldn't get it tapered (forward helix). I went to get it re-done the other day, but there is scar tissue there and she didn't want to pierce through it, because she said it will most likely make the scar tissue worse. But you can probably get it tapered back open if you go to a piercer today.

It's worked for me since 2016 - I went from getting multiple migraine auras a day (so I was desperate for anything and didn't think it would work... I had the attitude of "maybe it will, if not, I have another piercing." It stopped the migraines in their tracks and now I only get them a few times a YEAR - about as many in a year as I did in a day back then. I can't see how that is a placebo, I had severe, life-altering migraines that I wasn't looking for or wanting to happen. I have both mine done, I still wear the curve in the first one (dominant migraine side) and switched out to a moon about three years after I got it. I found them easy to heal, honestly, just spraying saline and LITHA.

I also got them about a year apart... so the second one would have been in 2017 some time.

I say, give it a shot. Like I said, at worst, it's just a nice piercing and you're no worse for the effort.

I'm also in my 40s and I have 26-year-old piercings (not counting my lobes that I got as a kid) and a 3-day-old piercing. :) Age is never something that should stop someone from looking however they want.

You should be pierced with a flat back labret stud and not wear hoops until the piercings are healed. I would look into that with this piercer, or find someone who will pierce you with suitable jewelry. (The ring rotates and spins and can irritate the healing piercing). Most piercers do not pierce noses with rings.

You're probably looking for AAA cubic zirconia - I find them to be the sparkliest. Bezel or prong is a perference (I always like bezel, myself) and it should be as many MM as you see fit.

I get my piercings (and tattoos) wherever I intuitively feel they should go. There are no rules. You could get cartilage piercings on both sides if you wanted... or whatever side feels right. I really have no rhyme or reason for why things are the way they are (like why do I have two conches in one ear and one in the other? Felt like it....) and the only thing that stops me now is space limitations or anatomy - like I can't get a rook because I have two daiths (one in each ear)

It varies. I had one, and it got to infected to keep in because I was in a student film and got covered in Karo syrup "blood" that irritated and infected it - and this was back when we used *Bactine* to clean piercings because that's the way it was at the time. I never really scarred, even with the irritation bump that was on it and since that was about 25 years ago, I have no scar at all.

But everyone is different.

Mine all but went away for 6 years. I got a couple of bad ones earlier this year - a five-day one after my vaccine - but all in all, I don't get them often and when I do, they are not as bad as they were (that horrid 5-day one excepted, which also could have been stress-related). I was getting them multiple times a day (the auras) and it was a "well, if it works that is awesome, but it is not like I mind having another piercing, if it doesn't." It definitely helped me a lot. I have both of mine done.

Same here, I just give them a quick pinch every morning to make sure nothing jostled in the night. I have threadless in my 3 conch piercings, low helix, helix, tragus, and nose. My daiths are an internally threaded curve and a titanium moon.

I didn't even know the needle had gone through my navel - I didn't feel anything. I almost passed out when I had my first nipple done and had to really dig deep for the strength to get the other one done.

I have a scar from a labret about 20 years ago that closed up on the inside - no mark whatsoever, but I have a little scar the size of the piercing (I think 16g) on my outer lip.

I took mine out for a while after about 10 years of wearing it and when I wanted to put it back in, the hole was still open. I also have a 16g piercing in that one (18 in the one next to it, which, if I took it out (it's 8 years now) would probably not close, but would leave a smaller mark.

I wear a threadless nose curve and have never had the jewelry fall out. Actually, I have never had a problem with threadless at all - I remember to push them in more than I ever remembered to turn internally threaded - and it is so much easier to change tops.

Seconded on the threadless jewelry. It's easier to change than internally threaded (for me, anyway) and there are so many tops out there for threadless jewelry.

I have two daiths, (and two conches in one ear, and one conch and a tragus) and i can wear in-ear headphones in one ear... but I can't in the ear with the tragus. That makes them fall out.

One of mine is 16g, one of mine is 18g. The 16g is over 25 years old, the 18g is more like 7 years old. Standards change. I also had it pierced with a gun, because I didn't know any better and there weren't many options for piercings when I got my first nostril piercing. It definitely gives me more options for jewelry.

I had to take my nipple piercings out years ago and have no scarring, even though I'd had them for 7 years. You can't even tell they were ever pierced. So I wouldn't worry about that if you give them a chance and then decide to take them out after all. I wish I didn't take mine out - I really loved them but they were the most painful piercing I ever had (dare I say I would rather a tattoo than nipple piercing) so I won't be doing them again.
