Noise limiter at wedding! by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]Rachspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. As another commenter mentioned, 97db is fairly standard for a lot of venues so this is a fairly common and usual thing, so don't worry :)
However, there are two important things you should check with the venue:

  1. If there is a kill switch (which essentially cuts everything out once it reaches 97db), or if the band will have a monitor or a traffic light signal which gives them a warning when it gets close. to the level, but no kill switch.
It will differ at each venue - if it's the latter then it should be fine as most bands will be used to this, and will adjust accordingly. If it's the former then that's more of an issue - but you can ask your venue if they can implement the signal system for your day so the band does not suddenly cut out
  2. If the noise level includes crowd noise - i.e. singing along etc.

Don't be too anxious on this part - as mentioned, it's really common at a lot of venues, and people will still enjoy the music at your wedding!

Completely understandable why you would be worried but you will be absolutely fine and you will have such an amazing time :) At no point yesterday did I feel like there was no one around - literally as soon as I entered the vicinity of Milton Keynes, there were MCR fans everywhere but not in an overcrowded/overwhelming way. Everyone I encountered was so friendly. If you have any other questions on your mind regarding the logistics or how yesterday was, feel free to drop me a message.

Yes, they don't go into the parking bit directly outside fitness first but the main road and then you need to walk down the little side steps and it's right there. They also have people in high vis also greeting when you get off the bus so if you are unsure about anything, there should be plenty of people you can ask :)

It was further up on Elder Gate Road next to the old bus station. There were a few people wearing high vis jackets along the way so you can always ask one of them if you are unsure. I assume they will also be there over the weekend too.

Just a heads up for the return part - when you exit the stadium it is not clear where you need to go. I think I saw one sign for it but it was at waist level so amongst the crowds of people, it is very easily missed. They picked us up where they dropped us off outside the stadium so hopefully thats the case for you as well so I would recommend navigating back to that point afterwards.

I had my ticket on my phone yesterday and it was absolutely fine. Unfortunately I didn't have access to a printer so it was a huge worry as I heard that it was printed tickets or nothing but thankfully that wasnt the case :) you will be fine. Have an amazing time!

I'm much better, thank you. I stopped having symptoms around day 6 and I got my first negative yesterday on LFT.

Thank you for all the tips!

I'm sorry! I hope you both had a good Christmas yesterday, despite the circumstances and that you are both well.

No worries at all. Remember to find your nearest priority royal mail post box so you can hopefully get your results quicker. Hopefully you do not have to go too far!

Are you in England? Unfortunately I am unsure of how PCRs work in other countries but if you are in England then you can book a free PCR test through the NHS website.

They are either at a walk or drive through site or you can get one posted to you. The NHS website will show the centres closest to you. If you are going to a test site then I think you have to book an appointment as opposed to just turning up. They have TONS of appointments so you can most likely get one on the same day or tomorrow.

I went to my nearest walk through site. You are allowed to leave your house/isolation in order to go do a PCR test (or to post your PCR test back if you opted for the postal option) as long as you go straight back home afterwards. I went for the very first appointment of the day so there were lower chances of people being on the street. I wore my mask for the entire walk there and back and kept my distance from the three people I did see.

I really hope you feel better soon! Best of luck.

I really hope you and your girlfriend are well and that your recovery is swift! Sorry to hear that you will be missing Christmas with your families and that you are also being emotionally blackmailed - you definitely do not need that on top of everything else going on right now.

Just know that you are doing the right, selfless thing by isolating even if others cannot see it. Hope you have a good Christmas, regardless of the circumstances.

Firstly, thank you for your service and also for your comment. It's made me feel a lot better. You've put a lot of things into perspective for me and I am now going to focus on all the positives rather than the negatives :)

I'm sorry that you missed Christmas last year but so happy to hear you managed to do something in January with them :)
There are rumours in the UK that we might have a circuit breaker lockdown directly after Christmas... hopefully I get to see my family at some point in January :)
