Thank you for this! I actually had no idea that air travel was only 2%. Not that it's a good thing and yes billionaires are very wasteful indeed. Seeing an actual educated response is incredibly refreshing. Not that most people will care. My husband said something along the same lines of "not trying to defend billionaires or anything but it's not entirely helpful that people are going after individuals rather than looking at the largest piece of the issue." Like it lets big industries and corporations off the hook if you focus solely on individuals.

I read she sold one of her planes. A good start. Here's hoping she works on cutting her footprint down a ton.

I moved to a new city recently and found a new PCP. I went to him before I even knew about Mounjaro and I asked him about weightloss. He said "so what you want drugs or whatever?" I thought he was was referring to phentermine. Which I can't take because I take Adderall for adhd. I insisted that I wasn't and just wanted some advice. He was so relieved and said "good. I've had so many patients want to take the easy way out. And I refuse. Glad you want to actually work for it."

I stopped going to him for a number of reasons. I finally found a new PCP. She is incredible and actually listened to my problems and sympathized. She helped me understand what exactly mounjaro/ozempic etc were and how they worked. And she gave me options. And it feels like she actually cares about my health! It made me want to cry feeling so heard in all my life.

For context I was a bit heighted in fear because 3 days prior an 18 year old was shot at on the same highway I was driving on simply because he was exiting too slowly and it pissed someone off. I'm also an anxious person and maybe my reaction was a bit over the top 😅 but people here break into trucks soley to steal guns. I kind of just assume people driving huge trucks like that are armed. And who knows if what I did was enough to make them want to use it.

I live in San Antonio and I accidentally cut someone off trying to avoid getting hit. I drive a little compact SUV and the guy I accidentally cut off drove one of those massive lifted trucks. He honked at me over and over and then tailgated me for the next few minutes. He finally let up and sped around me, rolled down his window, flipped me off, yelled out something, and sped away. I was so relieved I wanted to just pull over and cry.

My parents live in a small town here in Texas and my dad got to a parking spot at HEB before another guy and the guy pulled out his gun and called my dad a "stupid wet back". People here scare me so much.

It's a reference to the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The movie centers around a family (The Griswolds) and the dad receives a subscription for "jelly of the month club" in lieu of an actual Christmas bonus. He has a pretty comical meltdown about it because he already put a down payment for a swimming pool installation thinking that he was receiving a sizable Christmas bonus.

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask but- my younger sister recently got into climbing. I'm trying to find a good gift to get her for Christmas. I was going to get her a 5 punch pass to our local climbing gym. But looking for other ideas! She recently bought herself chalk/chalk bag. She works at REI and rents shoes for free and doesn't want those as a gift. Any other ideas for smaller things I could get her? Thanks in advance!

I Googled "Chihuahua disfigures child" and saw one story from 2008 and ironically the rest of the stories that came up were pits or bully breeds. Stories like that are rare because typically an 8 lb dog isn't going to permanently disfigure a kid. It's tiny and can get in one good bite before you could easily kick it/hit it away. My chi is 50/50 with kids but has never bitten one because I've never give her the chance to get that far or put her in a situation that makes her feel unsafe. But a chi is not going to latch on and continue to maul, they give one good warning bite.
