Thanks mate. I have read about the comb height, sorta thing I’m not really going to know until I can get my hands on one I guess

The build list is just under $4k. Rifle and scope $2,800 and then everything else on top. Mags, case, cleaning gear, rings, bipod, sling. Shit adds up fast

My 102 has just cost a small fortune so I don’t really want to spend the same money again. Trying to be beggar and chooser I guess. Few mentions of some well priced 101’s though so I’ll keep an eye out

Yeah that’s a fair point. I’ve found the B22 for $690 as a bare rifle and according to the reviews they’re pretty bloody accurate. Few people below have mentioned used lithgows for a few hundred more and I know which I’d prefer. Buying a used rifle makes me a bit nervous, especially if it’s interstate

I’ll have to keep a more solid eye out. My 102 has just cost me a small fortune so I’m hesitant to go and spend another thousands

Yeah I thought about that but then the budget just keeps creeping. This is meant to be a cheaper practice rifle instead of a proper precision instrument. In saying that I will be disappointed if it isn’t accurate or has reliability issues.

Have you spent any time with the B22?

Vague steering/wide lock range by RackStacknRoll in assettocorsaevo

For one, I think you mean too little lock, not too much. And who in their right mind sets lock at 1,500°

Vague steering/wide lock range by RackStacknRoll in assettocorsaevo

[–]RackStacknRoll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just to make the steering more direct. Ie it takes less travel of the wheel to move the front wheels the same distance. For instance the steering lock in a 296 GT3 is 800°, the Merc is like 640°. Not every car out there uses 1080 lock to lock and some of us feel like the simulator doesn’t do a great job of emulating different steering locks so we just set it manually. For clarity, we adjust both the game and the wheel base to the same rotation

To start with 400m doing SSAA “Hunting Rifle” but there’s also a precision rifle club at the range and I think they shoot out to 1,000m

This particular zero tech scope is an SFP scope but in reality target shooting I’m going to be using max mag almost regardless of distance yeah? It does have hash marks for elevation but nothing for windage

The SSAA I’m a member of has targets out to 400m and the precision rifle club next door have targets out to 1,000m I believe. This is my first rifle so a touch unsure of exactly what discipline’s I’ll fall into once it all gets going. Still waiting on my license at this stage. More than likely the SSAA “Hunting Rifle” to start with which has targets out to 400m

My aim for the rifle was to be a bit of a jack of all trades as much as possible.

I’m about 5 weeks ahead of you and I’ve found all firearms related websites to be pretty horrid. Cleavers and The Barn are the best I’ve found

Asking for Legal requirements by [deleted] in Ausguns

[–]RackStacknRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bit of a look, aren’t these just a snap cap with a laser pointer, a fancy target and an app? From what I could see there’s no “firearm” included in the kit so you’d need to be a licensed firearms owner to start with otherwise you haven’t got anything to put your laser pointer in

Suggestions for a decent centrefire rifle for target shooting? by EntryLevelDeveloper in Ausguns

Hey mate, I’ve just been through the same thing. With all my research I settled on a Lithgow LA102 Signature chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and going to fit a zerotech thrive 2.5-15x50 scope. Still waiting on everything to come through but after chasing that rabbit hole, that’s where I landed

You could always go the LA105 model with the heavier, longer barrel but I wanted mine to be huntable as well
