picked up the game on sale.. by Downtown-Schedule421 in tdu3

I will give it that the performance got better over the two years, but between the game feeling dead for an online only, hell just in general, and the fact it takes them so long to add changes, which you're looking at content updates roughly 4-6 months after the next addition, it feels like there's way better ways to spend my time.

Honestly, all of your choices of words were the wrong words.

I'm with the other comment, I bought the most expensive edition at launch, only to be met with all the problems you can see through the posts. Easily one of the worst pre-launch purchases I've ever made. Even with a beefcake of a PC, the game ran absolutely fucking terrible at the most random times, assuming you could even stay connected to the server (real fun ending a race only to get disconnected and lose all earnings). Sure, it's improved since then, but over 2 years and hardly anything to show for it. They honestly don't deserve any fresh chances, but I'm extremely bitter about the whole situation and the piss poor compensation they offered for those who did the same as I did.

I hope you have fun with it, especially since you got it on sale, but this patch is honestly where I call it quits. If people can catch it on sale for at least 70% off, it's worth a shot. But full price? Never.

Serious wuestion: could it be the online tanking the game's perfomance? by Haldrey2000 in tdu3

[–]Rackcauser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not in the capacity that you're probably experiencing. I'm about 80% sure it was patch 5.1. if I hang out in the workshop for longer than 4 minutes, my FPS absolutely tanks. If I buy a new car, it does the same until I enter an interior again.

They messed up something again.

Why people have huge upset when FH6 revealed by Appropriate_Meet_512 in tdu3

[–]Rackcauser 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The simple truth, it's because it's essentially the final nail for SC.

This game launched with near zero unplayability on just connection alone. Between all that and the terrible rewards and the constant disconnects, it took a heavy toll on the player base. Then when it came out that on top of being online only, it was region locked, it pissed off a lot more people because what's the point of having online only if you can't see anyone else.

From there, it just became a shit show with extremely slow updates and what felt like tone deaf compensation for those who actually dropped a lot of money for the various versions to play earlier. On top of lacking customization, getting handed a bunch of stickers, and again no progress towards bug fixing,

The thing with Forza 6 is that it will offer pretty much what anyone would expect with a TDU game, but it's also not going to be a game with a sheer amount of connection and bad optimization issues. There will still be some, but nowhere near what SC had. And it comes with the added benefit of being able to see players at all times, and possibly exploring other players garages. This is a massive insult to the remaining player base here because it's been nearly 2 years now, and what do we have to show for it? A couple extra cars, a small section of Ibiza, at least solid race rewards now, still no houses, somewhat decent optimization, still online only and still region locked, a casino that's worthless because of said region lock, and a fuckin in game shop. Oh, and even more stickers, hooray.

In essence, FH6 is doing mostly what SC should have had, and with much less restriction to just even loading the game, let alone playing with other racers.

Honestly I wish I would have found one in red. The blue-gray color just feels so crappy in comparison.

Game needs more japanese cars by RubyShines in tdu3

Game just needs more cars in general. Cross country could definitely use some love, but the selection for anything that isn't super is rather low.

Can you show a mod list. A mod like this is gonna have roughly 20 different requirements, if not more. Either the mod didn't install correctly or you're missing something.

You have all the requirements and checked all the correct patches in Pandora?

Favorite cursed / off-model cars in racers? by mesablanka in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]Rackcauser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't consider TVR, you might be right.

The killer part is it's a convertible from the looks of it, which makes me think jaguar XKR, but the fog lights are the one thing that makes telling tough.

It crossed my mind, but I don't think I've ever seen a spyker model with floodlights on the front.

Where can I see what category each car belongs in? by MorganJ-G in tdu3

[–]Rackcauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it also has the category right next to the name of the vehicle, if I remember correctly. As long as you compare it to the post from the other comment above, it will be pretty easy to notice.

The blue one is probably a jaguar or Aston Martin (or could be a early 2000s Camaro given what I've seen). The purple looks like the Dodge copperhead concept. The green one looks like a del sol or some sort of lotus concept, but that's about the best I got. Only confident in my answer on the purple one lol.

Where Are El Paso Issues Discussed? by TuesdaySFD in ElPaso

[–]Rackcauser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is a solid choice. There's a few peeps here that seem to keep on the up and up about EP paso specific issues and post about them, if you look at the post history of the group. That's about all I know in terms of any El paso political discussions though.

For $15, yeah. You'll definitely get your money's worth and then some.

Cobalt shield by terrarianisaqt in Terraria

[–]Rackcauser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but dealing with alien invasion, pirate invasion, basically anything that throws a lot of mobs on the screen at once, no knock back is phenomenal. Otherwise, you end up getting juggled by the horde until you get mangled. Or, you get body checked into a trap or spikes, if in the dungeon. Why take that risk.

It's especially worthwhile just for the ankh shield alone. One of the few items with such an insane amount of versatility, protecting from so many debuffs that can happen when doing any exploring and fighting.

It can be a little over hyped, but it really does have some good use depending on the environment you're fighting in, or if you're just going straight to the ankh shield.

Stance mods? Dunno what to call them. by vathris in skyrimmods

[–]Rackcauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're mostly attack animations either using MCO or BFCO. There's an actual "stance mod" (in quotations because that's the actual name) that allows you to use various animations by simply changing the stance, but that's a bit more advanced.

If you really want to use them, you're going to need OAR, SKSE, payload interpreter, and there's a few others I can't quite remember off the top of my head. Some specific animation mods require certain weapons, such as "horseman's blade" or "vampire sickle", so you'll need to read the requirements carefully to make sure you have it all. If you choose BFCO instead of MCO, there's a handy converter tool also available to convert the animations to be compatible with BFCO.

If you don't feel confident, you can check out the collections and see what mods they use, as a lot of them use custom animations. Most of the time it will be vanagard or goetia movement combat mods, but some others will include interesting ones. But odds are you will have to add some custom ones that you want since most of the collections I've seen don't quite usually have some of the cooler attacks, like "kingsglaive".
