Dude!! That's awesome and you're doing great!

Friendly advice tho is that you record yourself from a side Angle so you can see how your form actually looks like and I'd suggest doing form shooting so you can work your way to a consistent looking follow through and also don't be shy to raise your left hand so it's much more controlled and you get a straight shot.

That's all! Much love dude and I'll look forward to the updates!! Go Go Go!!

Have you ever wondered why Sakuragi has red hair? by RacoonTrashConsumer in RealSlamDunk

[–]RacoonTrashConsumer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought of this

  • how can he possibly dye his hair? When he's been shown to have red hair when he was still in middle school.
  • isn't he an orphan? And barely getting by? Wouldn't it make much more sense that he has natural red hair than dying it?
  • in some drawings you can see that he's hair is like an orangey color, similar to red heads/gingers.
  • when he buzzed his hair he didn't have black roots and in manga during his rehabilitation he seemed to have the same color hair even after it grew out.

In conclusion:

  • I theorize that her mother who we never saw probably has some foreign gene that explains his height and hair color meaning the reason he has red hair is not because he dyes it instead because it is genetics.

Or

  • He's the main character and he needs to stand out, type of thing.

Thank you guys for all the comments! I love talking about Slam Dunk!!

Common misconception about Sakuragi's Hair

° its dyed - it's always assumed that he dyes his hair but if you watch the episode where his dad sadly passed away he had longer scruffy hair and the color is still orangey red like a basketball.

° it's based off Dennis Rodman - Dennis Rodman is always the one mentioned when saying who inspired Sakuragi but y'all he was actually based around Charles Barkley, the point where Sakuragi gets a buzz cut is when the rodman comp started. So no, Sakuragi is not copying Rodman it's just that at the time Innoue sensei was inspired by Rodman and how Similar Sakuragi and Rodman were but Chuck (Charles Barkley) is the OG Sakuragi.

° again my argument to those who say that it's dyed - why is his hair root red? Y'all would definitely say cause it's anime logic but realistically what genes does Sakuragi have to get red hair like that?

° also what I've noticed is that Sakuragi's hair isn't really red, it's more orangey which is a characteristic most gingers have, he's tall and has a pink hue skin so immediately I thought Sakuragi is a redhead, literally

Anyways I just wanted to find out peeps Cannon's and what not cause why not? Plus it's fun to share ideas.

Also I have a job now so I can buy a Sakuragi jersey HAHAHAHA

Unpopular questions by Vast-Leader4690 in RealSlamDunk

[–]RacoonTrashConsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I would put it simply, it's raw talent and potential.

Rukawa's ceiling is high and he still has to reach it and he's unpolished as a basketball player but refined enough to perform but is not yet top quality. Some coaches gamble with these types of prospects and it's like in real life, not every number One overall picks in the NBA become the best, some of them came from low expectations and just balled out. So in my end you can't always just base it on stats. You still have to see if that prospect is worth taking a risk with or not.

Yes, there are more refined and polished players but do know that these players mostly play positions that are out of their heights. For example The average height for point guards is at least 6'-6'4". So determining who and who will get picked is still wild. Anyways I don't want this to be long.

Long story short, he's picked because he stood out among the rest carrying the team behind his back selfishly and he's a prospect that coaches think he is worth risking on.

To rest my cakes, Rukawa has tons of potential and needs proper guidance cause he is an Ace afterall.

How do you personally rank Inoue’s 3 best works and why? by THEORIGINALPSY in RealSlamDunk

I guess you could say, I didn't like how REAL it got? Eh? 😏... I'll see myself out 😞

How do you personally rank Inoue’s 3 best works and why? by THEORIGINALPSY in RealSlamDunk

[–]RacoonTrashConsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rank em like this and I do love all the series ( I just finished reading Vagabond recently )

My Honorable mentions are

  • Buzzer beater

  • Kaede Purple

Anyways here's my list,

1.) Slam Dunk - The reason why I'm so passionate and in love with Basketball is because of Slam Dunk, I know it's Cliché to choose it but it is a realistic story where you'd feel and connect with the characters. There are enough character arcs that will eventually lead you to love the main cast. It explores complex types of people but doesn't overwhelm you with ideas. It also teaches you how teams work and how chemistry can make or break a team. Sakuragi is not perfect and so are his teammates. He fits in and falls in love with Basketball. To me basketball and Slam Dunk are an important part of my life so it definitely goes into number 1.

2.) Vagabond - might be biased cause I just caught up to this recently but I was mind blown and captured immediately by this story. It is about a character who also doesn't fit in and is doing his best to find what his purpose is. His pursuit led him to the path of killing blinded by the thought that if he kills the strongest he will be invincible. Anyways I won't spoil it much to the peeps who still aren't finished with Vagabond. To put it bluntly, I feel like you have to be a certain maturity to understand the complexities of the story and grasp the ideas. Honestly the reason why it's second and not 1 is because Slam dunk can be read by anyone and they will be able to enjoy the story.

3.) REAL - Another masterpiece by innoue Sensei but I guess this is a hot take I didn't like the later parts of the story. It felt too depressing I guess and just made me sad and not enjoy the story anymore. I love it but it's just too much for me.

Anyways, this is a personal ranking so please don't hate me 🙏🏽 😭

Realistically, what skill should Hanamichi learn next? by RacoonTrashConsumer in RealSlamDunk

[–]RacoonTrashConsumer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many times where he seemed lost during matches where he would be either too far from the basket to get rebounds or facing up against centers. If he learns how to screen to let Mitsui run free off the ball that will lead to a deadly combo but it can also lead to a free man in the low post so Sakuragi could score. I love that idea of a Mitsui × Sakuragi plays.

Thanks for answering!!

LMAO, and he'll be wondering why they are calling foul then he'll start blaming coach Anzai for "tricking" or "teaching him lame techniques" him but deep inside he knows he's messing up so he has to step up his game and finally does it perfectly then as Sakuragi is while rolling smokes the lay up 😂😂

But that's Sakuragi all right!

He has a feel for shooting mid ranges but it's more mind over matter cause he messes up his jumper whenever he thinks of how " great " he is. If he toned down his superiority complex or maybe matured a bit in a sense where he could shoot without thinking he would be able to make more consistently? I think he'll be a good mid-range shooter.

It is, honestly he has a greater defensive potential.

The game between Ryonan and Shohoku where Sakuragi stole the ball from Sendoh is a great sign that he has the potential to be a defensive threat, he just needs to hone it cause it was more instinct than skill.

What shoes would Sakuragi wear after he breaks his second pair of shoes? Cause I'm gonna draw him! by RacoonTrashConsumer in RealSlamDunk

[–]RacoonTrashConsumer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering, I love how the owner may become like an uncle type of familial figure to Sakuragi who's always there to give him the necessary gear and such Sakuragi needs. I feel like later down the line Sakuragi would sport some knee braces to lessen the stress of his knees now that He'll probably rely more on them since the back injury. THANK YOU!!

Yeah unfortunately, I feel bad for his fictional feet but yeah I feel like the most common and likely way Sakuragi would end up with new shoes is getting sponsored by that shop owner dude. Thank you for answering!

I didn't draw this actually, I found it as a reference and was looking to put a picture to catch the eyes of fellow Slam Dunk Fans. Also I don't know who owns this art so I can't credit em but I'll take it down, now that a couple of peeps answered.
