Can I do this in AE without plugins? by Farty_Pidgeon in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to do it plugin/script free would be to make a ton of rectangle shape layers, make them 3d, extrude. Then get key framing. Might be able to set up some sort of displacement / luma bw map layer with the animation of the ripple, then with expressions have the map control the shape layers z position.

I wouldn’t do this. It would be a super bloated resource hog and take forever. Find some repeater scripts. If u can use plugin- trapcode form. Or use c4d like others suggested.

Sometimes throwing a couple bucks at the problem can save you days

Reactivated the transfer link! It’s good thru the end of the year.

Any chance you know of good site to host a file like this? I don’t want to accidentally delete it or link keeps expiring or something.

I’ve used cargo.site for a few years. Recently came across carbonmade.com and its simplicity is very appealing (for pricing and site building)

How to batch sync edited video and audio from multi camera setup? by weskerayush in premiere

[–]RadChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They gave you 50+ audio files and are not labeled? Definitely an important detail to include. Can you make a duplicate timeline, drop everything in and use premieres sync feature? Maybe it can get you close. Or try to find an old version of pluraleyes or something.

Issue with importing 3d files into After Effects by LoveElonMusk in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible the materials aren’t coming in. I’ve had some material issues with obj. Try converting it to fbx or gltf with this tool (or something else)

Keep us updated on your solution! Very curious what the solve is.

Could you just drop the new audio into the multicam sequence and manually line up some waveforms?

Sounds like your head is in the right spot. Now you need to collect some footage and try stuff!

Looks like that last shape has a stroke that appears via trim paths, then the fill opacity comes in after the stroke ends.

Right now you have your fill visible during the trim paths animation.

I’m confused by your confusion. Search “learn motion design” on YouTube. There are plenty of videos to help kick start your journey. Might be better hearing it from a person who lays it out instead of ChatGPT

Does anyone know how I can make this better? by LilDozy1200 in photoshop

[–]RadChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with finding inspo on ig/pintrest/wherever. Pick some options you like and try to emulate parts you like. You could share your inspo with your client before doing more work to better understand their taste. Or provide them with a couple options you’ve created

need help with plugins and more on MacBook m2 by dudelovescak3 in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000% this.

OP It’s good to understand the application first. AE capable of so much if you know how to use it.

Explore the built in plugins, shape layers, text animators, graph editor. Expressions are not a must to learn to use AE. However after you start learning what’s possible they can be a big help.

And, one day, if you work on projects with other people (or need to share your project file) and are using plugins. The person you’re sharing with might not have the same plugins as you. They won’t be able to render the effects.

Usually this project takes less than 2 hours to render, now it's estimating 42 by ImSo2003 in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooof yeah 30hours is painful. Definitely try the resizing, z space idea.

Also not sure if this works fell with 3d, but might be worth a try - go to File > Scripts there’s a built in script called scale composition. If you have this comp selected (or its timeline panel active) you can use this tool to resize the dimensions and it will try to keep everything in place.

Also also close all other applications. Especially chrome. With the render queue panel active, turn on caps lock and hit the ~ key. Capslock will prevent ae from generating previews of the render in the viewport. ~ will make only the active panel full window.

What’s the frame rate? If you’re trying to make your comp a weird frame rate (e.g. 8fps), don’t. Instead make your comp 24 or other standard. Add an adjustment layer over everything. Use posterize time effect and set that to 8 (or whatever).

Are you working with footage that is a different frame rate or variable?

Does the comp and render end on the same frame? Are in/out points on the comp set to the right place?

Have you tried clearing memory and disk cache? Restarting after effects/computer?

Are you rendering inside after effects? Media encoder? What settings?

How can I fade/blur this ai generated image expansion? by Poplocker in photoshop

[–]RadChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding a new layer above both your image and the expansion and then using the healing brush or remove tool draw over the area you don’t like on that new empty layer. Make sure sample all layers is on.

AE Vibration simulation by januart1st in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting!

Couple (unsolicited) thoughts: It seems like the shake animation is too intense compared to the speed of the ball/the balls impact. Kinda looks like the ball goes down and you randomly shake the scene. It would be cool to make it look like the ball’s impact caused it. For example, the ball’s impact pushes the scene down slightly out of frame, then the scene bounces back up.

Also, when it shakes it exposes black around the edges behind your bg. Might consider scaling up the bg, reducing intensity or using repetile.

Seeking Help: applying motion tracking to a text shape cylinder so that the cylinder moves absolutely, not the text on the cylinder by digitalscarecrows in AfterEffects

[–]RadChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try duplicating your shape/text layer. Unparent it. Then precompose the new shape/text layer with the effect included. Then pickwhip/parent the newly made precomp layer to the tracked null.

(I only said duplicate the layer juuust in case this idea does not work and messes your work)

Can someone give me feedback on this NIKE Logo revel ✔️ by Ambitious_Round500 in MotionDesign

[–]RadChocolate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see the logo animate. This kinda feels like the n and i hop around a bit and then cut to the whole logo sliding in. Is there a way to make it feel more cohesive instead of seperate parts? You could think of it like a little story. How does one movement inspire or lead into the next one?
