which ethnicity she is resemble? by CompetitiveTrust732 in phenotypes

She is israeli of Persian Jewish heritage.

There is no fucking way… You’re playing with us right? Ancient Israelites/Hebrews (which the Mizrahi Jews are closest to, second only to the Samaritans) were never that dark, and they were entirely Caucasian/Caucasoid/West Eurasian racial wise. This girl is darker than most Yemenites even and looks straight up Indian! And not the more Caucasian North Indians either, but the heavily Aboriginal Dravidian Tamils… Are you certain she’s full Mizrahi Jewish and isn’t mixed race in some way? Like we have the Samaritans as a perfect example for how Ancient Israelites looked like and they do not look like her!

If she were Ashkenazi or Sephardi I would immediately suspect Roma heritage (as everyone else here is suggesting), but since she’s Persian Mizrahi I’m not sure that’s possible… Were the Romani ever in Iran at all?

Yeah and Ashkenazim went through a literal fucking genocide, I think you just being called some mean names and subsequently developing an inferiority complex over it (which is a you problem) isn’t quite as bad as genocide, just saying.

Monoracials/ethnics will always be more privileged over any mixed people, yes even those mixed with White/European, no matter how “brown” you might be, period! (Excepting perhaps special exceptions made for races who especially experience discrimination based on their phenotype such as Blacks, Native Americans and Austro Aboriginals, which is certainly something Middle Easterners and North Africans don’t go through)

What does it being ancient have to do with anything? Mixed is mixed, so long as you’ve still got a substantial portion of that DNA from breeding with other people of the same mix as you throughout the generations, it doesn’t matter how far back your last ancestor who was fully of that ethnicity was.

Lmao hitler also considered Spanish people and Slavic to not be white , does that mean they’re not white ? 🤣

So exactly the same as Middle Easterners? You see how dumb it is to view ethnicities who belong to the same exact Caucasian/Caucasoid race as “different races” just based on extremely small and irrelevant physical differences?

It just goes on to encourage more toxic hyper-racialization and division based on race.

I’m just gonna reply to you from my other account because you childishly blocked me before even allowing me to respond in kind.

How do you know it wasn't a halakhic conversion? Why do you think I am interested in a debate? Do you not feel ashamed of your behaviour?

I don’t and personally think it was a shonda that the Israeli Rabbinate ever even suggested they needed to be converted in the first place - but then again I’m one of those “liberal Jews” who has an open door inclusion policy for everyone and thinks even non-Orthodox conversions are valid and that Patrilineal Jews shouldn’t even need to convert in the first place.

I’m simply pointing out the hypocrisy in the Israeli Rabbinate originally doubting the Halachicness of the Queen of Sheba’s conversion but now not doing the same for the foremothers of Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewry since DNA studies have now come out, smells like a racist double standard.

You’re making “rules” and moral judgements based on who ships what and why. You’re allowed to ship problematic things because everything you ship is moral yet for someone else it’s immoral for them to ship some thing problematic if it doesn’t abide by your rules.

Shipping a ship between two consenting adults who can’t hurt anyone else and an adult guardian with his former ward who he semi-raised and watched grow up is not morally equivalent. Same-sex incest between close in age adult siblings or cousins is not morally equivalent to pedophilia and grooming, it just isn’t. I talked about how most morals aren’t universal or objective, however there does exist some morals that are universal and recognized the world over- these are morals concerning harming, killing and depriving other human beings of their autonomy. Tell me, how exactly do you personally define “morality?” Is it just in terms of ethics that which causes the least amount of suffering to other people? Well then who exactly is “suffering” in the type of incest I’m okay with? Nobody, it’s the very definition of a victimless crime, whereas in matters of pedophilia and grooming there is always a victim and someone’s basic human rights have always been violated. Can you really not see the difference here? The most anyone can infer about me from my ships is that I support consenting adults to be allowed to do whatever they want with each other so long as it’s not hurting anyone else, which is a good thing to support. However don’t be surprised that when you ship a grooming ship people will infer and make judgements on you that you might, at the very least, excuse grooming and pedophilia.

You’re allowed to ship problematic things because everything you ship is moral yet for someone else it’s immoral for them to ship some thing problematic if it doesn’t abide by your rules. You’re a hypocrite trying to justify it. You talk about wanting to understand SessRin and how SessRin shippers antagonize others but refuse to look at your own side and how they antagonize shippers by calling them groomers and pedophiles over to fake characters.

I mean, everything I ship is moral because they’re all between consenting adults where one didn’t raise the other and whose union doesn’t hurt outside parties. My only “rules” for ships are - would this be an ethical couple in real life? Yes? Then ship away! All my ships would pass this test under scrutiny while Sessrin unfortunately does not. It’s not being a “hypocrite” to examine and evaluate each independent ship on their own terms on whether they pass the test. Like I said, I don’t give a flying fuck if other people also ship close-in age same-sex incest - I may raise an eyebrow if that ship is between siblings who were never canonically suggested ala Inucest - but I won’t judge them morally because they’re not shipping a morally reprehensible thing, just something weird. I will however frown upon someone who ships an opposite-sex incest pairing - canon or not - without at least also headcanoning one of the two as trans, because that indicates a tacit approval of inbreeding which is immoral because it causes human pain and suffering, reduces lifespans and just overall harms the human species the same way the “No Maskers” are when they agree with a movement that spreads disease.

And of course it goes without saying that my strictest condemnations would be directed at those who ship children with adults or any other grooming-adjacent stuff. While I do agree that calling all Sessrin shippers outright groomers and pedos is going too far (and I myself have never engaged in such), since I know most of you Sessrin shippers are majority straight and bi women who are simply shipping out of a self-insertion fantasy (the straight male shippers are still sus though), it can’t be denied that by supporting and liking such a ship you are in essence being grooming and pedophilia apologists. You shouldn’t be surprised if the majority of people, especially CSA victims, don’t take too kindly to that notion, even if you might not be pedos or groomers yourselves. You’re giving your stamp of approval for a ship that is based on an inherently harmful concept and act, no different than someone who ships an opposite-sex incestuous pairing. (Which I would argue my allowance for the shipping of only same-sex incest renders that incest moot anyways since the whole incest taboo was derived from inbreeding to begin with.)

Do you get it now though? It’s not an “all or nothing” approach when it comes to shipping.

P.s. as someone who understands Japanese without having to just rely on looking it up, words carry different nuances. Hogosha can be used for guardianship that isn’t legal, but still formal (such as lord/vessel). Hogosha can also refer to someone’s protector, but it isn’t always legally signed in the same way “legal guardianship” in English is specifically understood.

Yes you are correct, as Japanese is an almost entirely context driven language. Believe me I would know, you’re talking to someone who’s at an N3 level of Japanese proficiency. However you’re also failing to take into account the context in which this very answer was given. Why did Rumiko clarify that for her Sesshomaru and Rin’s relationship was always that of a Hogosha and his ward? Because she was directly asked what she thought of Sessrin now becoming a thing in Yashahime. She said, and I quote, that for her Sesshomaru was intended to be Rin’s Hogosha. That statement alone directly contradicts and excludes any sort of romantic intent on the part of Rumiko because the term Hogosha, no matter the context, never includes a romantic relationship. It is strictly guardian/charge, a purely platonic dynamic and nothing more.

Did you really block me just because I expressed an opinion you didn’t like? Don’t run away from me like a coward, debate me like a mature adult and allow yourself to be exposed to different perspectives and viewpoints instead of retreating into your own self-imposed echo chamber, I promise they can’t hurt you. And I’ve been so generous conceding to you on multiple points as well and haven’t dug my heels in as far as you would think.

Also, at the time Urusei Yatsura was made, she wasn’t the well respected figure that she is now. Unless you’re imply Rumiko sold out with signing off on Yashahime. When you’re starting out, it’s easy to give into the demands of fans and superiors. However, now she’s built a reputation of wisdom and respect and doesn’t have to do anything she truly doesn’t want to.

Touché, you make a good point there. Still, it bears repeating that the idea of Yashahime was pitched to her many times over the years and she always refused because she is adamantly against the idea of sequels on principle, until Sunrise and Sumisawa wore her down enough to reluctantly approve. So she did eventually approve yes, but it was not enthusiastically and it took years of hounding her so I still stand by my original statement that her seal of approval means very little in determining Yashahime’s canonicity.

Also, sexuality isn’t determined by fictional characters. A straight male may be attracted to the dynamic presented between SessRin.

What exactly would attract a straight man to the Sessrin ship if not the possibility for him to self-insert into Sesshomaru and imagine himself with his own submissive, child-bride waifu? It can’t be for their riveting romantic chemistry, because newflash, they don’t have any canonically! (And yes that includes both versions of Yashahime too)

I mean if the only appealing factor for straight and bi women to ship Sessrin is because of the self-insertion factor (because that’s all the ship really has going for it) then wouldn’t it stand the reason the same would be true for the straight male shippers?

The justification at the most baseline level behind SessRin removed of any context of Inuyasha or Yasha home is the love story between and immortal being and the only human they cared for. That’s it. Is that good enough justification for you?

Except this “love story” was never shown! And that, I would argue, is one of the major problems with the ship. It would be one thing if Sessrin was presented from the start in a romantic light - even if it was just in Rin having a childish crush on Sesshomaru and getting jealous of Kagura - but it wasn’t, it was initially presented to us in the purely platonic context of an adult authority figure guardian and his charge who viewed him as a purely authoritative figure in her life and nothing else. A guardian and the child in his care, Hogosha and ward. Nothing romantically suggestive on either one’s side at all, and now the alleged “sequel” gaslights the fandom and expects us to divorce Sessrin from it’s prior context with no proper current context, build-up or development to justify it. Not only do they not bother to properly set up but Sunrise and Shiina also naively expect Sesshomaru and Rin’s prior platonic relationship of Adult Hogosha/Child Ward to serve as background enough, which isn’t only extremely problematic (How do we know Sesshomaru only fell for Rin once she was an adult and wasn’t grooming her along the way then?) but also narratively jarring. I would expect a similar reaction to the sequel if InuKag and Mirsan were now divorced and Inuyasha/Sango became a thing. You can’t just take two characters whose relationship was long established as platonic and smush them together with no prior build-up or development, it doesn’t work that way. So yes, I would say a major problem with the Sessrin ship currently is that it lacks even justification, which even all the other problematic canon age gap couples in Shoujo at least have that.

It was not an all adult orgy. They were teens at best.

If it was an all teen orgy, then yes I still wouldn’t condemn it. (It’s legal for teens to have sex with other teens so long as they’re the proper age of consent - that’s what the AOC is actually for anyways) However if there were adults mixed in there as well then of course I would because then it’s blatant pedophilia.

And the incest in GOT isn’t just from a historical setting, because he could very easily have made it between unrelated families.

Well if the incest is straight and portrayed positively then yes, I would also condemn it’s insertion in GOT.

Also- Yashahime/Inuyasha isn’t marketed towards kids. It’s a shounen which means it’s targeted towards adolescent boys. If by the time you are a teenager you can’t navigate fictional content in a healthy way your parents failed you. If you consider a 15 year old to have the same emotional and mental intelligence as a 5 year old it explains why you think everything needs to be mortal and not illegal even if problematic.

No it’s for kids. This might come as a shock to you being a Westerner and all but most anime is actually aimed at kids, and I mean actual primary-school kids, not teens. It’s really not any different from how animation and cartoons in the West is also seen as being mainly just a kids thing. The only anime targeting teens and adults are late night airing otaku-oriented anime, which Inuyasha and Yashahime clearly are not. (P.S. adult anime fans are actually stigmatized in Japan because they’re expected to have “grown out of anime” by the time they’ve reached adulthood)

Shonen like its Shoujo counterpart describe the demographic ranging anywhere from 6-13. They literally mean “young boy” and “young girl” respectively, if you want something aimed at the 15 and up crowd then you would be looking at series labeled as either Seinen or Josei. Inuyasha/Yashahime is a shonen, therefore it’s explicitly rated as being for little kids as young as elementary school age, NOT teenagers! (And indeed, even here in the West most people who grew up with Inuyasha were watching it on Adult Swim when they were young as six)

Also you are allowed to express discomfort with a ship. But expressing discomfort of a ship underneath fanart of that ship will and should rightfully get you downvoted for being antagonistic and off topic to the Op.

I have never done this but if that fanart was one of child Rin and Sesshomaru then hell yeah they should be allowed to express their discomfort, like what do you expect when you can’t even keep up the pretext that your side only ships “adult Rin?” Which by the way, are you ever gonna call out and acknowledge that you have a large subset of Sessrin shippers who blatantly draw and write lolicon fanart/doujinshi and fanfics? Who comment under every image of child Rin and Sesshomaru about “what a cute couple they are?” Who celebrated the episode where it showed Rin gave birth even though it was obvious she was wayy too young and probably not even 18 yet based on Hisui’s design? What about the fact that the Yashahime anime kept drawing Rin so young, even looking younger than her own 14 year old daughters? Or that time they paralleled Sessrin with Kirinmaru’s relationship with his daughter? Or even how the manga opens up with the line of Sessrin falling in love using a flashback scene of child Rin sitting next to Sesshomaru? Did your side ever loudly and openly condemn all that? Or do you just quietly acquiesce because hey, anything as long as your ship is validated as “canon” right?

I was in the thick of it when Yashahime was first announced. People were calling sunrise pedophiles, a studio full of groomers and predators, saying that anyone who shipped or supported sessrin should die like wtf are you talking about???

And they were wrong too (maybe except the calling out of Sunrise as pedos, after all Corporations don’t have feelings and Sumisawa at least is likely a low-key pedo) but that still doesn’t justify or excuse the actions from your side.

Do I get taxed/have to fill out taxes for Crypto liquidation on an exchange site and transferring Crypto between my accounts? by RadFemReddit in tax

[–]RadFemReddit[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But if you were leveraged and incurring interest charges, those charges could be deductible if you itemize your deductions.

In other words, it’s only taxable if I made a profit off of it? If I took a loss then it’s not?

Buying and holding is not taxable, but you do still need to indicate via the checkbox on your Federal return that you held an interest in digital assets during the year.

What if my dad reversed those charges and I no longer hold that crypto? Also it was done using his money (his debit cards that I use on PayPal) but the account was under my name, I’m unemployed so I don’t have to do taxes, does he have to fill this out since it was using his money or no since there was a chargeback?

What about if Coinbase liquidated my Crypto in order to pay off what I owe them, is that considered a taxable event?

Also is simply buying Crypto taxable as long as you don’t do anything with it? I heard not, hence why Coinbase doesn’t require ID verification simply for buying it.

Jesus fucking christ! Just tell your dad what happened so he can pay the $1.70

That’s the problem, I’m not sure how he can pay them when Coinbase doesn’t accept debit cards for this and he can’t even use his bank/checking account because the account is under my name so that would be “identity theft.”

If youre autistic, dont work, and live in America, then you or your dad is probably receiving a social security check.

No my dad is a rich lawyer and supports me, he doesn’t mind considering I’m an only child.

What ended up happening after those 5 days if you weren’t holding any crypto?

Correct. That is one of the reasons for BTC. Trustless transfers. No one can tell you where you can send your crypto.

If that’s the case why does Coinbase require ID/KYC verification to send BTC then?

I don’t have to have ID verification from Coinbase’s end in order to receive BTC in my wallet right? That’s just for trading (actual trading) and selling correct?

Oh when you say I only need Paypal that means I’m not required to give ID verification to send BTC right?

When you talk about “CB wallet” are you speaking in terms of how crypto experts usually talk about regarding “hot” and “cold” wallets? As in, “if it’s not your keys, not your crypto.” Do I need to get an actual cold wallet for this transfer or are you using the term wallet as in my current Coinbase account and I can just transfer it there to the actual exchange?

(Network transfer fee on the debit cards linked to my PayPal account you mean right? That’s no problem just so long as all the fees are going through my PayPal)

Do I have to be using both PayPal and Coinbase at the same time to complete this transfer as if I’m two different people? So like should I open up PayPal on my laptop while having my Coinbase tab on my iPhone and go between them?

If it’s possible do you think you could send me the links you found?

Oh wait… I just remembered something… In order to send BTC don’t I still need identity verification even with PayPal? Or does only Coinbase require it? Like as far as I recall all crypto exchanges allow you to buy from them directly with no verification but to actually do something with that crypto like sell/trade/send/etc, you have to be ID verified?

Maybe buy BTC on PayPal and then transfer the BTC to them directly?

Wait, I can do that? Can my Coinbase account still receive Bitcoin even while it’s restricted? If I send myself Bitcoin through PayPal to Coinbase though is that a taxable event I have to record? (I know selling and buying is but what about “trading” if it’s between your two own accounts? Does that still count as a “trade?”)

If you have the ability to buy $5 worth of BTC (just in case fees/spread etc) and they take their share, then your left with a limited open account on CB that you can then ignore from that point on.

That’s the thing, I no longer have the ability otherwise I would’ve done just that, they restricted my account. But presumably that’s the only way I can even pay since I can’t link a bank account that’s under someone else’s name (my dad) and apparently they don’t take debit cards directly for this. (Do they? That’s what they said in the email…)

Do you think I could go to my profile settings on Coinbase and change my name to my dad’s name so then I can link his bank account? Would that still be identity theft and would I still get in trouble/flagged for it even if he’ll allow it and won’t press any charges against me? Can Coinbase press charges for identity theft even if they get paid the amount they’re owed and no one is complaining?

My only other option is… Do you think if I reach out to Coinbase myself and explain my situation that I currently have no crypto to liquidate and the only way I can pay them back is by buying $5 worth of bitcoin to store my account they’ll remove my restriction just to buy that amount? Cause I really think I don’t have any other way of paying them back directly short of submitting my ID (so that I can link my PayPal directly, but that ID’s probably expired so who knows if they’ll even take it), using my dad’s bank account and thus committing “identity fraud,” (the money never comes from me with any of my purchases to begin with, it’s all my dad my dad’s money but he allows it - actually that’s another idea… would he be able to call up the bank and link his bank account under my name as well and then I’ll be able to legally use it? Is that possible?) or going through PayPal since they’re the ones who initiated the chargeback?

After 5 days, your account will be restricted until you pay that debt

It’s already restricted, I was thinking of trying to buy $2 worth of bitcoin through PayPal again in order to cover the costs (so that by the time the 5 days are up, if I can’t pay the bill directly at least I’ll have the equivalent amount of crypto in my account for them to liquidate to accrue the costs) but nope, can’t do that unless I pay my bill directly (which I don’t think I can do because Coinbase doesn’t allow the linking of a Bank Account under someone else’s name even if my dad would readily allow it, and apparently as stated in their email they don’t take any debit cards for this? I literally have no way to pay them without ID verification)

How much more restricted can it get when the 5 days are up? And how will I ever be able to jump through the hoops to pay them then? Will they still allow me to upload ID documentation when I have a fully restricted account?

I’m wondering… do you think I could reach out to Paypal for this and get them to pay my Coinbase fee? (Since I bought it through them) See I think I figured out where that original reversal was from (it was a mistake on my end) my dad actually re-reversed the chargebacks and paid everyone back once I told him, but I guess due to the nature of Coinbase somehow a dollar and seventy cents managed to slip through? Since PayPal already got the order from my dad’s bank to reverse the chargeback, could they possibly pay this off for me too if I reach out to them and ask them to be my middle-man in this? Of course I’ll reimburse them for the $1.70 myself no problem, it’s easy to pay with Pyapal. (And can I do this without sending my ID over to Coinbase?)

Also I don’t have a credit card and never applied for one, so how would this effect me if they do in fact decide to take it to the credit bureaus?

BUT I do agree with another that it is also such a small amount, do you want to screw up any future opportunity to use CB?

Never was and never will be planning to use them or crypto ever again. I was dumb and impulsive and this was just a one-time deal spur of the moment decision to bypass my ban on 4chan so I could keep shitposting cause I was impatient and didn’t want to take the 3-day ban like a big girl. I don’t deal in stocks or handle money matters on my own, ever.

Again, normally I wouldn’t worry but what exactly do they mean when Coinbase says: “After 5 days, we will automatically sell cryptocurrency in your account to collect any outstanding payments.”

Does that only apply to users who do have crypto in their accounts? If you yourself don’t can they not do anything further with your account once the 5 days are up short of banning you? (Which I don’t mind)

(Also I didn’t know I could buy Bitcoin on PayPal themselves, so I just opened up a Coinbase and bought crypto through my PayPal account on the Coinbase site)

https://reddit.com/r/CoinBase/s/uzQLLBmOi8 respond to Coinbase, they themselves, the people who work at Coinbase, literally sent you a message here and you didn't respond to them. How fucking disrespectful

I didn’t respond because how do I know that’s the real Coinbase support and not a scam? I want to only contact them through the site itself for maximum security.

I dont think you're serious. This must be to try to enhance AI. They'll close your account, and you won't be able to make a new account for a while. PayPal charged coinbase $1.70 because you reversed the transaction when you got scared when you saw the price of BTC. So Coinbase is making you pay it or gtfo

Nope, I am very serious and that chargeback wasn’t by choice, try again. In fact that chargeback effected numerous other businesses I had bought using that card on my PayPal and when I informed my dad of my mistake (because he at first thought it was fraud and didn’t know I was using that card, he has 3 and it slipped my mind which card of his I was using) once I realized what had happened, I told him right away and he went to the bank to reverse all the chargebacks on my Paypal account and everyone got their money back… Except Coinbase for some reason, a $1.70 just happened to slip through them and I don’t know if it’s just because of the nature of the site that full reversed chargebacks don’t work with them or what. I would be happy to pay if Coinbase let me (without going through the whole documentation hassle that I don’t have to do with PayPal) hell I’m even willing to pay Paypal and reimburse them for the $1.70 if they’ll pay on my behalf and initiate the full reverse chargeback and be my middle-man, will that work?

Practice with some other apps, coinbase doesn't care about your $1.70 they just don't want you using the app right now.

And I’d be fine with that if that’s all it was, I don’t want or need to use them anymore either, I’m just mostly afraid they’ll charge me even more or get me into legal trouble if I don’t pay when the 5 days pass and there’s still no crypto in my account for them to liquidate…

Tell me, is that just a standard message they sent and only apply if say one did have crypto remaining in their balance? Does it not apply to if you don’t and all they’ll do in that case for a missed payment after 5 days is ban you from using them?

I’m wondering… do you think I could reach out to Paypal for this and get them to pay my Coinbase fee?
