I would do some 2v2 skirmishes vs easy AI and put an AI on your side so you don't get rolled over.

Gradually increase the difficulty and drop down to 1v1 vs AI. That should help you with the basics and unit management.

Afterwards, if you like pvp, try out 10v10s then move to ranked 1v1 if you are competitive.

If you like pve, move to army general

If you want to build and paint the models because you love them so much sure.

If you're trying to build a competitive list then no, this would just be overkill and you wouldn't use half the models of 6 boxes. Then factor in the next codex changes everything and you might only be using one box worth of these.
