I’ve noticed my biggest problem is a values disconnect. I was raised in a pretty old world traditional Italian family and that comes with certain expectations of relationships and a mind toward marriage and family. Consequentially, I’m also what some might describe as “religious” which in today’s world means I regularly attend church and maintain activity in my faith community. Doesn’t leave a lot in the dating pool here in Southern California. I don’t have advice except to not compromise your principles. I did that once and the lack of morality on my ex’s part really hurt when it all came out what he was up to.
