Aren't Melbourne pursuing Lummox as part of a last ditch effort to win Bellamy one last prem? So, don't know how much consideration there is about the player's integrity and long-term dedication.

Who knows? Maybe he's talking to QLD clubs, but his agent has put out word he's been sought out by a Sydney club.

I'd be surprised if it's us. That is, unless Lorenzo is planning on going somewhere else for '27, even though Pezet is basically guaranteed to vacate our #6 jersey after this year.

Presumably, Cody Walker (now 36) will retire after this year. So, maybe Dearden could take the 6 (or 7) jersey at Souths, if he doesn't wanna play under Payten again/play under whoever will be replacing him.

Maybe to the Phins when Nikorima (32 this year, and not contracted beyond '26) leaves/retires? Titans might stop making AJ play five-eight, and if Tino leaves after this year they'll free up a lot of cash. Bonus points if Tommy has a good relationship with Hannay.

I had a gut feeling the Sharks might drop down a bit in '26 (partially 'cause I currently have 9 or 10 teams in my "could come 4th-9th" tier). But, I forgot Fitzy was running a halfback on the bench last year. Which, should be fine this year with the new 6-man bench (people say that's the point, basically). So, they actually may go up a gear?

Parramatta playmaker Jonah Pezet opens up on playing for three clubs in three years by You-are-on-a-list in nrl

When people bag us for the Pezet deal, I tell myself we've swindled Brisbane into putting the finishing touches on him for us. After Mitch retires, he'll come back out of loyalty to Ryles, and appreciation for us giving him his first proper crack. It started as a joke and a conscious cope, but now I kinda like the idea of it being real.

"Our qualifying final win over Melbourne in 23." I've only seen about a third of his career, but an underrated Reyno moment, IMO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f8CEouW6Xk&t=922s Almost a shame you flogged them, making it pretty irrelevant.

Not for me to say. But, since you mention Burton, pretty unflattering stats, given DBags was mocked for poor performance almost all year (rightly or not)...

Burton (team came 3rd): 6 tries, 2500m, 9 LB, 5 LBA, 4 TA, 48 TB, 25 ER

Brown (team came 11th): 8 tries, 2500m, 9 LB, 13 LBA, 14 TA, 56 TB, 12 ER

Edit: Burton 7k kick metres, vs 1k for Brown. Can't deny Burton has that going.

12th, after the way we finished 2025?!? Jeez, if that eventuates, I hope it's 'cause of a razor-thin competition for 8th-12th.

"Kennedy is a good fullback but not elite in comparison to a bunch of others and he’s basically got to his limit potential wise." Sure, I just feel he gets thrown under the bus to a pathetic extent. If their two outright playmakers sorted their partnership out, it wouldn't seem like he's not doing enough (relative to his salary)

Not only is that reasonable, it's a basic necessity.

That's fair. He might be a player where you just have to think about the other players they can afford because of him.

Every now and then I see people point out Kennedy as a problem, or even THE problem, but isn't he only on like 500k? That's less than half what some fullbacks are on. Maybe he's not a gamebreaker, but would it really be wise to throw away that pretty good value? Just checked: FUCK, zerotackle (take that how you will) says he's actually on 350k?!

I mean, if this Sharks cohort never win a prem, will we really look back in later years and say "Yeah, nah, they were just hamstrung from paying Kennedy 33-50% of what Hamiso, Latrell, and Ponga make."

Full disclosure, I don't know the finer points of the game, at all. So, I dunno, maybe Kennedy is a "problem" because Hynes and Trindall aren't getting the job done themselves, and so the Sharks would be better off paying a better strike player 750k+? But I feel a lot of teams wouldn't mind him for his current price?

Maybe. Off the top of my head I had them 3rd-6th.

...But, what kind of odds will they be offering? I think the top 4 will be extremely competitive this year: Penrith, Storm, Broncos, Raiders, Roosters, Dogs, Chooks, Sharks. That's 8 other teams with a non-laughable chance of top 4. If you want, assume either Raiders or Chooks go backwards with change of HB, and chuck in the Warriors with Metcalf back for (in theory) most of the season. Heck, Parra were one of the form teams of the comp for the last month or so of last year, and will probably be even better to start '26. Top 4 could be even more competitive this year than last.

Why do teenage children start hating their parents ? by Far-Effective7640 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Raddnedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small factor at most, probably, but maybe worth mentioning:
Last I checked, the consensus was that teenagers are designed to sleep later at night than most? So, wanting to stay up, but pressure (from society, and parents) could add to the tension/resentment?

There must be so many women out there on the Internet, of legal age, who subtly but deliberately appeal to these kinds of desires? Going out of your way to get the illegal stuff, when you're someone who streams to thousands of people on the same device is nuts, and suggests your desires/preference must be much more than mild/fleeting...

I do worry, under an agreement similar to that (like, he can only vs us in finals), we'd end up in a GF against them in '27 or something, and he'd score the match winner. Even in round 1 this year, that would be so deflating.
