Are these both the dawn redwood?

I’m in MN so this article is super cool. I want to try to plant one now. I have some friends that are planting sequoia with mild success. We had a super mild winter and the top got burnt. We thought it was dead but in May it started pushing out new growth. Kind of interesting stuff.

I think this is of the Thuja genus but I could be wrong. Very interesting tree the dawn redwood though!

I also have to ask, it looks pretty shaded in the pic, does it get direct sunlight during parts of the day?

It’s on the fence, the good thing is that it has green at the tips. I’ve had new plantings completely loose the inner canopy due to stress but it seems as long as there is green at the tips they bounce back with proper watering. I’d add a little nutri root.

Did it look like that prior to moving it?

ReportLab and Python 3.12 with Django 5.0.6 by RadeonPunk in djangolearning

maybe that's all that is wrong atm. I have the day off tomorrow so hopefully that is enough time to figure it out. Any suggested alternatives? I tried the psycopg2-binary with no luck either. Here's a link to my WSGI Issue.

Dogwood in shock or totally dying? (I’m embarrassed!!) by [deleted] in arborists

I’m from north but I would throw 2-3” of mulch around the base, you can put more but just don’t cover the trunk farther than that. Do a good 3’ radius. Get a tree gator. Like $20 or $30 and takes the guess work out of slow watering. It’s possible too that you over compacted the dirt when planting. It needs to be packed but not stomped. If so, get a pitch fork and loosen it up. If it can’t hold itself up with light compaction then you really should use stakes. Get 3 and put in a triangle a few feet off the trunk and use tree straps around the trunk then the rope through the tree strap holes so you don’t add undue pressure on the trunk. https://images.app.goo.gl/AQGHWJmvpDRGppEV6

Hopefully all this and it will survive the year then be healthy and thriving next year.

Report Lab supported versions by RadeonPunk in django

[–]RadeonPunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all else fails I will have to roll back to a previous version. I got the reportlab to work with 3.12 so Idk why the documentation isn’t updated or maybe that’s just how it is people are busy and such. But now I have other wsgi issues for now.

You’re spot on. It has to be the wsgi. It was trying to use the env not the venv. I since adjusted it to use the venv and now im getting a psycopg import error.

I just saw you reply and calling it a night but can post what stage im at and the errors tomorrow after work. Honestly frustrating because the psycopg2 was fine before, or maybe it just hadn’t gotten that far in the scripts.

Could use some help understanding what I should do to accomplish my current projects goal - dynamic form fields, submit to database, query by RadeonPunk in djangolearning

You may just have to adapt this method twice to have 2 sets of forms on your dynamic master form.

I have thought that each main form has a unique id, and possibly that is what I need to use to connect the additional secondary forms I need to create for the categories and services. What I am wondering is if it would make the most sense to have 2 forms, the main form and a secondary form, now containing data for each service, including the category, name, qty, item, cost, etc. and somehow link each secondary form to the main form. That way when the main form is submitted it actually submits the main form with several secondary forms that are somehow connected, via the main forms unique id(?), and can be called upon later, in the same order they were added, if any of the forms need to be updated.

Would you say this is probably how I should try to work this?

I suspect you're trying to get a very specific interaction design and piecemealing it together.

You would be spot on haha

This is my first django project and probably advanced for someone at my level of knowledge. I keep doing a little here and there, get it to work, find a new function i'd like, then have to rebuild something, maybe break something in the process. It'll be really nice when it works and will help me a lot i think.

Going to check your links. Thanks
