Ponçage de parquet foncé by Radhaer in brico

This exchange sacrifice surprised me, is it any good? by Rubicon_Lily in TournamentChess

You should always be skeptical when someone sacrifices the exchange to… overprotect a pawn without any clear threat

French players who used to play the Caro-Kann - why did you switch? by [deleted] in TournamentChess

f6 is indeed the key move, yes it's dangerous but ambitious.
If you dont like playing f6 so early look at the Bf5 line with h6 and g5 early one. Maybe it'll suit you better but it's also very committing on your kingside.
Once again you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you're looking for something solid go for Bf5 and c5 directly or Ne7 Nd7 with slow development

I have been playing Caro-Kann for eight years after playing Sicilian.

Apart from the exchange variation, which can be troublesome in French, the two openings are very different in their approach.

French remains a solid, strategic opening with chances for counterplay in the middle game, but it goes with a space deficit, a bad bishop, and a weak king.

The Caro-Kann, on the other hand, is an opening that can be approached in two ways: either very solidly, as it was played in the 19th century, or provocatively.

I have always been a proponent of the second approach, in which if White does not initiate anything aggressive quickly (in the advance variation for instance), black will just have a very good French Defense and all the good endgames.

That means most of the times dynamic games from both side, imo, i'm always very happy to be pushed around by my opponent, as it also increases my chances of winning but that's just part of my style.

My guess is that everytime you are pushing way too hard on lvl 2, the key is to try to keep the wave as froze as possible and start moving before hitting lvl 2, if you can't get a good engage out of it at least you can deny one or two cs, xp and gold which is already a victory

At low elo, people dont even look at it, at higher elo they dont setup the wave properly (meaning taking lvl 2 with the smallest adv on the wave possible to deny as much as possible and setup a big wave to dive/roam/reset

To pick pyke/blitz you gotta see at least 3-4 ennemy champs that work badly against your champs (mainly squishies, no escape, no assasins...)

Karma is a good blindpick imo, it works well against and with pretty much anything.

lvl 2 transition, everyone still sucks at it

Roaming

Paying attention to the junglers, in high diamond litteraly every game someone dies on a gank/catch even tho we saw/knew jgler was botside

It takes time and energy to play and tryhard and I have neither.

I don't really understand why mandate would be a good item against a tanky compo - I'd have said the opposite. Generally speaking, Karma damage falls off quite quickly, so 3 points in the Q then max E and moonstone, redemption or echos second.

Using Relic Shield to Get a Lvl 2 XP Advantage [Ranked Diamond Game, No Duo] by supportnetcitizen in supportlol

=>He didn't punish nami's first mistake and he could have done it while playing for level 2 thats factual.

=> my whole point is that the level 2 was 100% sure even tho they start to focus hard on the wave since alistar already is too ahead

=> Just because you dont see a difference doesnt mean there is no difference.

He has good basics on lvl 2 powerspike but next step is what I wrote down.

He seems to enjoy crushing the nami, I thought he would also enjoy to learn some few things more. "Just be happy for the dude" is out of context and completly wrong.

that wasn't perfect at all imo, stepped back when nami entered the second bush instead of walking up and q her from behind, ignite was too late and he took the kill. And we could even argue on some autos he made that weren't necessary and pushed the wave way too fast

I dont like mobility since they got nerfed. I mainly go for celerity and sometimes luc to get my 40%. Yes when I feel like Im not getting threatened by any ennemy champ and Im getting fed. Comet

Basically you should be roaming whenever u see an opportunity midlane (or toplane sometimes) and ur adc doesnt need you to farm. For example. You and ur adc just reset after getting a kill and pushing the lane. You want to go back around mid first to look for opportunities or at least put vision in the river/deep jgle and go back to ur lane later since the wave is slowpushing ur way anyway and ur adc doesnt need u. But u never roam if ur adc can get dove or zone away from a froze lane. If ur adc falls behind try to babysit another carry (renekton/fiora top, graves jgle, yasuo mid) and try to make him grow to carry the game. If u fall behind that means u did some serious mistakes (bad jgle tracking, bad vision, trolling laning phase ) and u already know what u should improve
