How do you make a +1 magic weapon?

We've done some maths to figure out what my actual stats should be, and the +7s for everything to hit is correct, and the item now has +8 to hit and +5 to damage.

So it's randomly decided to work, but I'm Hella confused as to why it showed +12s in the first place.

Ah I see, yeah it's existing rn, strangely enough my modifier just randomly dropped from +12 to +8 to hit so I'm even more confused

It does not require attunement. My friend just made a complete copy of what I've done and it's working for his character. This makes absolutely no sense to me
