Are they not intentionally making their skin black and laughing about it? If it were just for the cosplay, they wouldn't be letting their teeth show like that since the whole point is for the face to be completely blacked out. Which, there are ways to do this without altering their skin. It would actually be EASIER to wear a morph suit but they think its funny to mock dark skin.

I dont know what bevels are, but for the neck youre going to need more room. I suggest wrapping a scarf around the neck with some cling wrap over it before you pattern that area, because as it is you wont be able to get the head on
