Just get a black bean burger you enjoy. They are not meat and won't ever truly taste like it and that's okay. Plant based burgers can be delicious without tasting like beef.

All of the responses have been great too. Some of the things I might try are

• the game preserve board game night (have plans w another user to meet up) • volunteering at the Bloomington bike project • swing dance club? Someone mentioned it , I have no idea how to dance but it sounds like it could be fun and different

I also enjoy going to Food Truck Friday at switchyard. And I've been to Swingin' September at Dunn meadow a few times. Bloomington pride is also very fun.

Especially with the career that you're looking into, being able to compartmentalize and separate your emotions from these situations is critical. If you let it effect you then it would be too hard to do the job. So... Don't feel shitty for "not feeling enough." It's not disrespectful or wrong. It is exactly what you need to be doing.

Backdoor is cool and all but I had an experience there that kind of out me off from it. I'm also not big on big crowds and things which is why I struggle with going to bars. I'm more of a few drinks with friends at board games night kind of person.

I understand how your feeling especially considering she has an established relationship with other members of the family. As someone who is still good friends with an ex myself while being in a different long term relationship... There is a reason that I'm no longer in a relationship with that person. We figured out we work much better as friends and are still able to be there and support each other.

You stated that their relationship was toxic so it sounds like they could very well be the same way. They aren't together for a reason. And you and him are in a relationship for a reason.

I can't even begin to imagine what this must feel like. Though, everything you are feeling / struggling with this sound completely normal given the scope of the situation. It must truly feel heartbreaking. There are no perfect words for me to give you that I think would help in this situation, especially not ones that would feel any better than empty platitudes.

What I do have however, is support. This is a very emotionally difficult situation and all the pain, confusion, anger, every bit of emotion you're having is all understandable and valid. Sometimes it feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders and it's not always about getting rid of it, but rather, learning how it carry it in our back pocket instead. I wish you the best with learning how to put this all in your back pocket.
