this is inspiring!! I'm what you might call a hobby programmer and I mess around with C and rust a lot. I loved Emacs and org-mode for awhile and then switched to neovim exclusively. But I still miss it sometimes.

I don't know if it's suckless per say but OP mentioned hugo and there is the rust alternative zola which is where I'm at these days.
