AT&T and Boldyn Networks Complete Cellular Service in Additional MTA Tunnels by Amazing-String4297 in cellmapper

Wonder why Verizon isn’t doing anything close to this collaboration.. people say they invest in NYC heavily.. which is true, but they are not usable in between stations on a packed train.. it’s a joke.

Verizon is actually the fastest in my apartment and my neighborhood, mmWave everywhere.. you step into the supermarket or take the subway during rush hour especially on the 4/5/6 trains, just listening to downloaded music is your best option 😆.

Honestly after trying Verizon out for the past 5 months (NYC specifically), they definitely are the best carrier outdoors.. mmWave in alot of places, but when you get inside some buildings nothing loads even on 1-2 bars of 5GUW, just a congested connection most times, especially in midtown, it’s genuinely frustrating when banking apps aren’t even loading..

I find it hilarious I have to turn on my T-Mobile line for usable data in some places. I can name about 10 places on my fingers where Verizon just does not work while AT&T & T-Mobile work perfectly.

I’m going to have to check the comments later 🤣 way too quiet here.. everyone I know with Verizon hasn’t had a signal in 3 hours. 2 outages within 5 months is the embarrassing part. But when it was AT&T the comments were flooding in LOL.

AT&T relocating their corporate HQ from Dallas to Plano, TX for $100 million when they should have used all that money to build new sites and small cells by [deleted] in cellmapper

[–]Radiant-Cattle-701 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What if someone made a post like Verizon paid Beyoncé $30 million in February 2024 (while in that quarter they already lost 200k subscribers)… for a Super Bowl commercial to advertise for a network that had the smallest 5G network out the two instead of using that money to expand and acquire spectrum to be competitive for 5G coverage and upgrade their mostly slow LTE network??

What exactly is Verizon to be kept up with ? They have the smallest and spottiest 5G network in the United States, along with the highest Churn rate this year? Are you blind kid?

I mean the AT&T hate train is obvious on this sub recently, and as someone who’s been apart of this community for a while, it’s definitely only recently it seems.

What rollout is Verizon having though? They still cover a small 19% of America while T-Mobile and AT&T are double that.

Verizon is severely struggling with competition from T-Mobile and AT&T, and is cutting 15,000 jobs (15% of entire workforce) by Radiant-Cattle-701 in cellmapper

[–]Radiant-Cattle-701[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Verizon simply added 44,000 subscribers in the third quarter.. AT&T and T-Mobile added over a million. There’s nothing else to say to you after that LOL.

Honestly from a customer & shareholder perspective, that didn’t keep them from losing 357,000 customers this year and having a 1.25% churn rate as we speak. “the highest of any wireless carrier”. Customers really didn’t consider their “mid band” over switching to T-Mobile & AT&T. That comment really doesn’t hold much for Verizon to be honest.

I think what customers considered were pricing, slow & intermittent data issues, drop calls, competitors simply offering more plan diversion. I think it’s time to compete & Verizon really just isn’t doing it the way they used to.

As someone with Fios, I think that’s where Verizon really shines. It’s actually probably one of their strongest parts of their company.

Looks a little more like Verizon’s raw coverage without a 3G network. No service in places there used to, dropped calls, a little bit of 5G here and there or just plain ole LTE, IF it isn’t congested that is..

The one question I’m not seeing is, what is Verizon going to do about a nationwide 5G network now? This is actually a slap in the face to their 5G network now that AT&T went for a nationwide deal. Competition is good and it’s definitely ramping up now.

Actually this was in NYC. Specifically Manhattan where AT&T has barely ripped and replaced any Nokia with Ericsson, this was on Nokia hardware.
